Finally Eric Gordon is here

He agreed to a two-year deal with the Suns, including a player option, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Gordon had recently narrowed his choices down to Phoenix, Golden State and had even considered a reunion in Houston, sources said.

The Clippers waived the veteran on June 28 instead of guaranteeing his contract for next season. He would have been owed $20.9 million for 2023-24, per Spotrac.

Gordon averaged 12.4 points, 2.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 69 games (58 starts) with the Clippers and Rockets last season. He shot 44.6 percent from the floor.

Eric Gordon has made the 5th most shots in NBA history from at least 30 feet.

He learned a while back in Houston, there’s tremendous offensive value in spotting up way beyond the line. You put him on the strong side with Booker or KD, and good luck trying to help off.

Didn't think we could get EG so assumed we're looking for more of a true PG type of player since we don't really have one. I suppose we have enough basketball IQ and passing ability as a team it probably didn't matter.

What's surprising is that I thought EG was older. Thought he was already 36 and turning 37 lol

I always envisioned myself wearing an Eric Gordon purple jersey and it finally came true. Well first I must order and wear it before the season starts.

Oh man if the Suns are completely healthy come playoff time, a lineup with Gordon, Book, Beal, KD, and Ayton is going to be absolutely dynamite. I don't expect it to be the starting unit depending on the matchup, but this will likely be the Suns best 5-man group in terms of plus/minus.

Gordon played PG in playoffs with Houston under Dantoni.

Think he'd be valuable in a similar role for the bench.

It sure would have been nice had NO chosen to not match that RFA all those years ago. He would have been a key contributor for us.

It’s been a long time coming…and NOW it’s official.

Eric Gordon becomes the latest roster addition to Team Bahamas.

USA Basketball granted Gordon’s release and FIBA approved his change of country representation due to Article 22 of its Internal Regulations.

Article 22 prohibits a player from changing national team allegiance once he has participated in a major FIBA competition. Gordon previously competed for the USA in the 2010 FIBA World Cup. The article can be amended at FIBAs discretion if the player is joining a developing national team program and the move is deemed “in the best interest of basketball.”

Gordon will immediately join the team for the FIBA Americas Olympics Pre Qualifiers in Argentina
