Are we sure he should be shooting 3s?

As a starter getting consistent minutes he shot 25-69 for 36%. Good, but not great.

As a bench guy - ie his role for this squad - he only shot 5-44 for 11%! Yikes. I'm just not convinced with him as an actual 3 & D option at C. Great shot-blocker though, so fingers crossed.

Bol Bol is our starting point guard.
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Well, he will get wide open 3's here, and he knows it. So it's up to him to practice and make'em count. The basics are there, the shot is not broken/fugly. He is 23 and had several years in the league. Time to "produce" or get off the potty.

Is he backup for Durant and Watanabe at PF?

Stagger bench:
Beal, Okogie, Bates-Diop, Bol, Eubanks

Not sure you want Okogie with Wainright in the same lineup and Camara might be in the G-League, Metu probably Center so he'd get the role.

I don't have much hopes for him in that role but like having him on the roster as a 4th Center in case of emergency.

Just being able to practice with vets the ilk of Kd, Book and Beal SHOULD help his game. Hell, I hope his energy helps Ayton too.

Saying Bol Bol needs to focus on how he can help a team vs trying to be a superstar isn't 'hate'. It's acutely fair with him specifically because questions about his mindset have been there since college. It's partly why he fell in the draft. He's also had a couple teams already give up on him and the whole league passes him over on waivers. Hopefully that's a wake up call. I actually think signing with the suns is a good sign he might get it because he knows this is a contender where he'll have to earn his minutes.

I think he's a real unique and fun takent.

in no way am I saying the same as Tim Hardaway Sr BUT he knows alittle about BB as a 5 time NBA all star himself and with a son on the Mavs team. Saying Bol doesnt have NBA talent and end of the bench player is biased without seeing him play and discounting the great stats he put up as a starter when he got his chance.

It’s been over 110 degrees this past week here and reached 116 in the last few days. Can’t wait until July is over cause we having record setting days. It’s probably cold inside that’s why Bol is comfortable wearing a warm jacket.

Or maybe look at the other side of the argument and not the strawman you're building

But I watched ALOT of Magic games and can guess you havent.....and I'm not Tim Hardaway Sr or Pat Beverly who said what they said so nice try on trying to deflect on what they said

WHO is saying Bol Bol doesn't have talent? That's the strawman you're arguing against

One of the reasons we should all want this relationship to work out is explicitly due to the presence of guys like Wemby and Holmgren assuming they stay healthy and make an impact. Imagine being able to trot out a matchup specific guy to match their length.

That being said - Bol's got a sh- ton of work to do to even be trusted at this point.

It's nice to have a truly giant guy to play those specific matchups. Bol will help tremendously since Ayton can't be counted on to check that guy.

The Wester Conf. has Wembanyama 7'4"/225# , Chet Holmgren 7'1"/208# , Pokuzevski 7'0"/190# , Lively 7'1"/230# . Eastern Conf has Porzingis 7'3"/235#

Bol Bol 7'2"/220# is uniquely qualified to guard the unique breed of big man

I was thinking the same. This could very well happen if he puts his mind into the right things, and not the "I'm a PG" sht he's (seemingly) been on. If he can add 15 pounds of meat (not even strictly muscle in his case) even better. As I said before and his numbers indicate, he needs to try to be a poor mans Brook Lopez, not a rich mans Porzingis (or whatever he tried to be).
