Francis fighting on a torn MCL, explains why he was slower on his feet than usual, and gassed so quickly. Also explains why Gane was the favourite despite being inferior. Sheer willpower and inhuman strength got him through this.

That was Francis' last fight on his contract, normally there's a championship clause that makes the contract auto renew for one fight but Francis can get out of it by sitting out the year and become a free agent and walk.
