2nd best fighter in the world IMO behind Aldo

He'd kill Joel, not sure about Jacare/Mousasi. Wouldn't pick Rockhold over him.

I wonder what would have happened if Machida started the fight more aggressively. I'm sure CW still gets his share of takedowns/GP but he could have scored quite a bit on the feet.

Rogan was saying on his podcast that Machida was thinking of going down to 170, even before the Weidman fight. Schaub was saying how he walked around at 203 even when he fought at 205, and they made it seem like he got to Vegas pretty much on weight for the 185 bout this weekend.

Hell I mean I guess knowing that GSP is 190+ walking around, and Hendricks for example is well north of 200 walking around, I guess it wouldn't be too crazy. Seems crazy though, considering how long Machida has been a great fighter at an upper weight class.

I think he'd be way too drained out at 170, and would lose a lot of his skill and speed advantages.

On one hand I absolutely agree with you. On the other, from a stylistic perspective, how would you break down Hendricks/Machida? I'd favor Machida.

I don't think Hendricks hits Machida with that big shot, and I don't think he would have ANY success with the takedown game against Machida. Takedowns against Machida have to be so precise, and Hendricks telegraphs it way too much.

I would favour him against Hendricks as well.

I like him at Middleweight though. I think it's the sweet spot for him. He might have made scoring that fight a lot more interesting had he started out more aggressively.
