I'm coming out of retirement since all the cool kids are doing it. Can't wait for this one.

I love this fight, mostly because any fight where Diaz gets his mug punched and loses is one that interests me. Silva does not want to go out losing three in a row, so he will be going all out...

This PPV (UFC 183) gets a real interesting co-main event with Gastelum vs. Woodley just announced today. If Gastelum beats Woodley, then i am not opposed to him getting a Number One contender fight after that against a guy like Lombard (when he beats Burkman). They are both fighting in the same month.

Rory vs. Hendricks/Lawler winner (depending on health) will take place in March or April next year. Lombard vs. Gastelum (if he beats Woodley), or even a guy like Brown (if he beats Tarec) should be the logical Number One contender fights to make. I do not see Lombard losing to Burkman, so he is my ideal guy to get the next Number One contender fight at WW.

Its weird that Woodley didn't want to "take a step back" and fight Lombard, but now he is willing to take several steps back and fight Kelvin.

Not that I blame him.

In the meantime, its going to be tough for Hector to get a good enough resume to get a title shot if they keep having to import guys from lesser orgs to fight him.

That's a big jump up for Gastelum, but I give him a decent chance.

I'm hoping Lawler wins against Hendrix. He's more durable. I really want to see the champs fighting more than once every year, year and a half.
170 is my favorite division, I hate how it's all cluttered at the top. Adding Gus to the mix only further clutters it.

After seeing RDA vs. Diaz, I've decided not to watch this event. This fight will look like a combination of RDA vs. Diaz, Condit vs. Diaz, and Silva vs. Maia. Anderson will stick and move with leg kicks. It will be billed as the most exciting UFC fight of all time, but will end up being a boring, predictable fight.

But we do have Jones vs. Cormier coming up.

LOL, why are all ufc posters containing Nick so bad? They always just make him look like a creep.

I don't mind it... he's an ish disturber, lingering in the background, permanently in the minds of his opponents. Diaz's appeal, to me at least, is in psychology, whereas Spider/GSP are prototypical martial arts killers, with great physiques and presence, the draws who need top billing.

Doing all the right things. Neither Schilling nor Levin have Anderson's style but between them they have way more than a 100+ pro kickboxing matches and can surely mimic as well as anyone.

And they're also 2 of the 3 or 4 best 185ish kickboxers in the world.

Take it fwiw, some mma journalist. Has a few thousand twitter followers and I was following him before this tweet so I'm sure he has had some credible stuff in the past:

:( I like pretending he's not really old. I might pretend he's retired after the Diaz fight.

Can we finally be done with giving Diaz big fights he hasn't earned after Silva knocks him out? Pretty please Dana White. The Diaz brothers and their antics and losses to all the good fighters they face is getting so tired.

I was trying to convince myself that Nick could win this but I just went on sherdog and saw that Nick has not won a fight since vs BJ Penn in 2011. Wow.

At least Anderson won in 2012 lol. What year is it again?

Am I the only one surprised by how quiet the build up has been for this?

I'm seeing a decent amount of promotion. But at the same time its hard when less than two weeks before this fight the ufc was throwing everything behind Conor, and then the next week everything was about fox in Sweden. Now through Monday all everyone could talk about was Rumble.

Nick Diaz as per usual is MIA for the pre-fight festivities. You figure he'll be there when it really counts, but he's making people uneasy again.

Also, just in case, as usual Cerrone is offering to step up on short notice, to fight the GOAT, who competes 2 weight classes higher. You can't make this stuff up.
