Meh.

Almost good just because of Rory/Lombard, but I don't have much interest in Dillashaw/Barao II yet, and the Rampage/Bisping fights are lame, but you know will be main card fights, because Rampage/Bisping.

Rory by maniacal, repetitive jab, although I think it will be compelling throughout to the type of fan who enjoys watching Machida fight due to the anticipation and footwork dynamic. It will continually be a question of if Lombard can bull his way in, step to an angle, or time a big counter-strike that is a game-changer. One thing that Lombard has going for him is that Rory isn't exactly a kicking monster, as well as his history of liking to play the bully but not so much be bullied. Hector has to get into that position first. I'd cap this at about a 2:1 in favor of Rory (sans vig).

Rory vs. Lombard has been pulled, Mighty Mouse vs. a Japanese dude replaces it as the co-main.

What is with the ufc's obsession of killing off prospects? This dude had already stated that he isn't ready for a title shot yet.

Of course they couldn't finally give Hector an opportunity to move up the ladder before he's way over the hill, at which point they can set him up to lose and say I told you so afterward. Zuffa's treatment of the guy has been despicable. Good thing he's a prick or I'd feel even worse for him.

It's not Hector because he had to learn from Ariel the match was canceled, and no explanation was ever given as to why by Zuffa so it probably wasn't Rory either. They are presumably just tabling him for a title shot and icing Hector. They couldn't have even allowed Hector a terrible style match-up to try and reach the top of the mountain before age clearly won't allow it. They probably reschedule Hector with DHK next because he's outside the ww top 10 and reminds them of Okami.

I know it's probably been mentioned in another thread, and talked to death, but what is the reason the UFC brass seem to be against Hector?
Is it simply a case of a guy with intense knockout power with the ability to create really exciting fights, who doesn't always get the knockout and when he doesn't has really boring fights?
That's a really hard guy to market, cause if you promise a great fight and it's a dud, people get upset. Still though, hardly a reason to bury the guy.

He used to fight with Bellator, he made 300k to show off the bat, unlike most good soldiers he was publicly irked with them when they were jerky, and his fights are inconsistent in terms of excitement.

I don't agree with the assessment of really boring fights though. To me that hasn't been the case outside of against Boetsch. Otherwise they are ordinary if he doesn't get the ko. There was plenty of tension against Burkman. If people find that really boring, it's a matter of too high of expectations going in. And what that fight plus others of his lacked more than anything was the courage of opponents. Opponents that didn't get ko'ed either were trying to run or stay sticky.

Sucks since that was one fight i was looking forward to. I have no idea why the UFC would just cancel the fight out of the blue. My thinking is that the UFC probably wants Lombard to headline the UFC Manilla Show against a guy like Condit or Stungun in May. Maybe they will give Rory a crack at Lawler in August, in a Canadian city. Only time will tell. In my opinion-they have wasted Hector for the past year. Maybe because he came from Bellator, made a lot of money in the beginning (even though he has taken a drastic pay cut now), his attitude, etc. However- he does not deserve this **** treatment. Guy was texted by Helwani and told about his fight being cancelled. Ridiculous. Hopefully he gets a legitimate top ten guy in his next fight. Enough of fighting guys like Burkman.

This is the same crap I was talking about with the ufc during the Cowboy/Benson thing. Can you at least have the decency to tell a guy when his number one contender fight has been canceled? Such a joke.

I don't think this is confirmed quite yet, but there are some pretty juicy rumors going around about Mr. Lombard right now...

That is a good reason for the fight to be cancelled. I remember Hector saying a couple of years ago that he is willing to be tested anytime, he is clean, all natural, etc. Disappointed in Hector, and bad for his career, since he will face a suspension for this, with no title shot opportunities in 2015.
