DC just looked like he didn’t have the power to hurt Stipe while Stipe seemed to hurt dc multiple times. DC landed so many clean right hands and over hands, tagged him every time off a break etc but didn’t phase him at all.

Dc has some fast hands for a big dude. Guess that first fight right hook was really just the perfect punch.

DC landed the exact same shot that floored Stipe in the first fight so many times. Unfortunately for him, I think they mostly came at the end of the fight (rounds 3-4) and I think his power was gone by then. I don't really agree that he didn't have the power through the whole fight.

Here's what happens: Either Ngannous KTFO Stipe next. Or Jones moves up in which case he also beats Stipe. If Jones beats Stipe, he sticks around for the rematch, however if Ngannous is next, Jones relinquishes and is back to fighting Jan faster than GSP with ulcerative colitis.

Love Stipe, love Cormier too, great fight.

Cormiers eye is terrible, I’d hate to see a guy who was coaxed into fighting passed when he wanted to lose an eye in his last fight.
There must be so much regret legacy wise for DC right now. The money wasn’t worth the last two losses and an eye.

Hard to feel bad for DC when it comes to eye pokes in this trilogy haha.

And since so many contributed the first win to the eyepoke, i guess the same people should hate on Stipe now and contribute this win to the eyepoke.

It really blows that this is a topic of conversation IMO and will keep this from being an all time great trilogy due to the controversy.

They refuse to change the glove design

Yeah but Stipe has "immigrant mentality!"

If I’m Stipe I call out Jones and that’s it.
That’s the last fight, the biggest money fight and the only one left for him and he can retire as the GOAT HW and save his brain cells.

Btw I can’t believe he has a loss to Struve.
It’s a Matt Serra level blemish on a GOAT candidate haha

Great fight, not the outcome I wanted, but I don't think the eyepoke changed the fight. It basically ended in the direction it was already trending tbh. DC lost the fight when he made a costly mistake that got him dropped and rocked in round 2, and basically forced him to just survive for round 3. I do think DC has looked worse in each progressive fight with Stipe, and I think Stipe only ended up beating him twice because of age tbh.

HW is in a real fun spot now with Stipe/Jones/Francis/Curtis and even Bigi Boy.

Sad to see DC lose but Stipe is a good man and great champ.

It's HW, sometimes you get caught. Also Stipe was 8-3 in the UFC before that fight, he was pretty good before Hunt broke his jaw and he had literal heart issues.

The eye poke was really frustrating to watch because it looked intentional (payback) and probably wasn’t needed for Stipe to win the fight. There’s obviously been some bad blood that’s developed.

To act like that didn’t ruin the last two rounds of the fight is asinine. Stipe fought not to lose and DC was a lame duck. Worst UFC card in a while.

Anyone else annoyed with the announcers repeatedly calling Suga's stop decision "interesting"? He was taking massive elbows to the face and had an obvious leg injury. It was the most obvious call possible. They were REALLY into making him the next big thing.

Jones is probably just running his mouth but I wonder if he thinks he might as well move up because he's barely getting by at LHW with only picograms.

Didn't Jones already admit to doing some timely tweets in order to maintain a buzz about himself?

I hope O Malley is ok but at the same time I'm fine if I don't hear his name for a while. Never seen a guy who is basically a fight night headliner at this point get pushed all the way into a co-main slot off the hype of knocking out Amy Winehouses brother and having tekashi 69 hairstyles
