Cintron vs Margarito and Cotto vs Gomez.
I expect a KO from both fights.
I am wondering how Cintron will look given that he broke his wrist in his last fight and that there was talk that he was ducking Williams. Margarito looked damn impressive in his last fight on the Cotto undercard with a rare 1st round KO.
Cotto should roll over Gomez and call out Pretty Boy for a fight in NYC on PRD at the MSG. Gomez has no chance. If he lasts 12 rounds that will be an accomplishment within itself. Cotto just wears down people, and has become a very respectable boxer along the way given his recent performance vs Mosley.
It has been amazing March for the sport of boxing... and much props to HBO for shelling out money for two WCB events this month and for pimping the Showtime Vazquez/Marquez fight on their recent PPV.

...Why?
Yeah....
I said I would leave realgm if Rasho got a 20/10 game... he had back to back 20/10 games last week, so I had a name change to get people off my back.
Anyways I will keep this name until the Spurs and Raptors get eliminated from the playoffs.

Damn Raptors posters...I've dealt with them in all my time in the Nets Board.
I guess it's okay: doing the honorable thing. I'll be blaming Rasho until you change your name back. It's nothing new. I blame Rasho for countless things: the War in Iraq, Global Warming, Flair's retirment, Tyson's loss in his fight against Buster, Julius Caesar's assassination...
And just a bit more off-topic...have you ever seen Blades of Glory? Lampley was awesome in it.

Lampley is awesome...
I wish he could call basketball games.
Anyways it is just a name change... it isn't a big deal for me.

Roy Jones Says UFC Nixed Silva Bout

By Mark Vester
According to a recent report in the NY Daily News, UFC-head Dana White nixed a potential bout between Roy Jones, Jr. and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Several weeks ago, Silva challenged Jones to a boxing match. Jones told the Daily News that he made contact with Silva and his manager two-weeks ago and the two-sides were moving forward with boxing match that would have taken place between 180-188-pounds. Jones says that UFC President Dana White stopped the fight from taking place, and claimed to the paper that White was not going to let the company look bad by having their middleweight champion possibly outclassed with a first-round knockout.
"I don't see how it could discredit the UFC," Jones said. "The guy has boxed before and he's a tall, slick, left handed fighter. That gives everybody problems. It would be a good fight. As fighters we're supposed to be trying to do things that amaze people and make history. This could have been something that people really wanted to see.
"I just think it's wrong not to allow him (Silva) to get the opportunity to live out his fantasy to be in the ring with one of his heroes. That's the kind of thing that boxing promoters usually do."
While White did not a statement to the paper, I was informed that the UFC was willing to let Silva fight Jones, if the bout was held in the Octagon with UFC rules in place. Jones told the paper that he would not try his hand at MMA, as he find himself lost if taken to the ground.
"If I had a high school wrestling background, I'd be willing to try that stuff (mixed martial arts)," Jones said. "But I'm lost on the ground. He's got a lot of heart and I have nothing but respect for him for wanting to take on the best in boxing."

Are you going to the fight, or are you saving up money for that big Mayweather/Cotto fight at MSG that has to happen one of these days?
Nah, I'm sitting this fight out. AC is a 3+ hour trip for me and I don't think this card is worth it (now watch both main events be Fight of the Year classics).
Money May vs. Cotto would be electric if it happened at MSG, Floyd's never fought there before, but I have a feeling that fight will happen in Vegas.

I think that fight deserves to be at the Mecca of Boxing during the Puerto Rican Day Parade. I think all great fighters need to have on their resume that they sold out and won at the Garden.

Watching Countdown to Hopkins-Calzaghe (HBO rules). Sorry to any Hopkins fans, but this may be one of the few times I want someone to lose rather than watch a fight in the spirit of boxing.
I f'ing hate Randy Newman... he should have stopped the fight way before.
He sucked ass in the Miranda/Aurthur fight, last years Gatti fight, and tonight.
Margarito just has Cintron's number... It is what it is. Just like Mayorga had Forrest's number, like Forrest had Mosley's number. It was a good win for him and it will be exciting seeing him fight Cotto later on this summer.
Cotto is just f'ing beastly...
I don't like Joe... I don't like his style but I want to see how he faces with perhaps the smartest fighter in the game with Hopkins. He has an unbelieveable high boxing IQ, but in order for him to win he will have to let his hands go and I just don't think he can do that. He has lost fights due to his inactivity.

Well I have not seen the fights but I hope to god that Traver lost... I hate his damn ego.
I had the Tarver fight on Tivo in the other room when my neice and nephew came over. I was running back and forth to make sure they didn't change the channel on the DVR. I know Tarver won, but didn't see the fight.
As for Cotto he was toying with this kid tonite. At one point Cotto looked like he didn't want to keep hurting the kid so he kept dropping his hands and backing up. He knocked son out with a weak back up jab. Mayweather Vs. Cotto WE THE FANS NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Like Cotto say's I'm not a promoter I cant make him fight me, but if he want's to he knows where to find me. ....... Lets get it on.
