Re: WWE Network Thread
I know they were cancelling the Smackdown pre/post, which honestly only would have been a good idea to have if they would have made SD live because so many people watch SD later instead of as it airs. I thought the Raw pre/post shows were staying, just moving to a different setting? I don't know if you read something different than I did

Watching Monday Night Wars.
Question: Did Macho Man have any great matches in WCW? I can't remember reading about any.

I don't really remember any, he was all roided up looking by the time he joined WCW.

I honestly don't remember anything about Savage from WCW, other than when he took the leg drop from Hogan when the NWO formed, and being extremely roided up. All of my memories of him are from WWF.

Complete opposite, but his WWF stuff was way better when I watched it as an adult.

Oh good. Weird it's not directly available for us who have the network. Thanks.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid that it's not available in the "Originals" section on the network.

Re: WWE Network Thread
I'm watching WCW Clash of Champions 1997 and Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero for the Cruiserweight title. Jericho just did the big swing, that Cesaro has popularized. It didn't look nearly as good as when Cesaro does it but it was still pretty cool.

Re: WWE Network Thread
I finally got around to watching the Monday Night Wars episode. There were some positives and negatives to it.
A big positive was seeing Tony Schiavone and his awesome facial hair. I had never seen the guy since WCW went under, I think JR said on one of his podcasts that he was doing baseball and college football in Georgia now, but seeing him again was pretty fun. The biggest positive was that they're going so slowly with the story that while most people knew all the big stuff you might learn some of the small things. And Keith David as the narrator was a great choice.
I don't know if I'd characterize this as a negative but I constantly shift from mild annoyance to snarky laughter whenever I hear "Sports Entertainment", and let's just say that if you watched this live on Monday night and had a drinking game that you'd take a drink every time they said "Sports Entertainment" I think only now would you be sobering up. The two main complaints I had, the first being that for much of it I felt like I was watching a really good fan made video. This is a topic that they've done DVD's on and the story was part of other DVD's and there may not be a lot of new ground to cover but so much of this was interviews they'd done previously. For example, I don't think Eric Bischoff is still with TNA so why didn't they get Bischoff to film some new footage. If he can do a 7 hour podcast with Austin, they should be able to get him in a studio for a few hours. The other was how they portrayed WCW giving spoilers of Raw. Is that the most ethical thing, probably not. But I don't get, and this is specially about Vince's comments, where is the demarcation line between acceptable and unacceptable. In the 80's Vince did a lot of things to expedite the death of the territories that many said weren't the most ethical and were every bit as much about weakening and killing those territories as it was about building his company up. And I don't understand where's the line between what he did and what Bischoff did.
