Wow, Piper and Dusty were arguably the 2 best ever with the mic - and they might have been the last of the era's greats with their heads still really screwed on right. Piper seemed like such a great person and an incredible pro.
Before he ever came to the WWE, Piper was a regional star in the Pacific Northwest - and it was obvious he was going to be a national superstar - with his overwhelming personality, energy, and the fact that he was a damn good pro rassler. There was a young small wrestler he took under his wing named Art Barr (who died young after winning tag team championships with Eddie Guerrero and had the same issues that Eddie had).
