I recently heard (on a podcast) something similar, but not quite the exact same. I forget which podcast it was, probably the Observer, but the story was that Vince had recently become open to the idea of selling, after seeing how much UFC sold for. It wasn't so much that he was actively shopping the company but more so that he wouldn't rule out selling it if the right deal came along.
During the most recent conference call Vince was asked, specifically in light of the UFC's sale, if he'd consider selling WWE and his response was "We're open for business." That's a vague enough answer that you can't say he's explicitly open to it. But he didn't say no. And so yeah, that seems to lend credence that if someone were to put forth the right figure he'd consider it.
I have only listened to 1 of the conference calls with Vince and found it to be pretty boring. On the other hand, the calls with Triple H are pretty interesting and mildly entertaining at points. I like listening to him talk about the business a lot more than Vince.
They're incredibly boring and I've only listened to snippets of them. I just saw that quote in a recap article of it.
The HHH ones are way more interesting because he's not talking stock prices and financial projections and all that other stuff. My favorite one was from about a year ago with the December NXT show and this was when Raw was in a really bad place creatively with the Sheamus-Reigns feud. And their were a lot of 'NXT does x well, why does Raw do x poorly' type questions, it was so awkward. I loved it.
