Last Game of the Season! Clippers @ Blazers!

Post#1 » by Effigy » Thu Apr 17, 2014 1:19 am

Portland takes their league-leading 4 game winning streak into a completely meaningless (for us) final game of the season. Stotts has already confirmed that LMA and probably Mo Williams won't play at all, while the other 4 starters will get to start the game just so they can say they started all 82 games this year. Hopefully they won't play more than about 5 minutes tonight.

The Game MIGHT matter to the Clippers, but would require OKC losing at home to Detroit which doesn't just seem unlikely, it seems impossible. Blake isn't going to play today because he can't control his

emotions. Chris Paul also didn't make the trip and won't be in the game. Should be an epic battle tonight!

Secondary storyline: If Portland wins and Miami and/or Houston loses, we finish with the same record as they do, and the pick we send to Charlotte (currently 24) could wind up even lower thanks to a coin flip.

The Lineup I want to see tonight:

GO BLAZERS!!!!!!!
Or not really. Who cares about this game?

One of our young players is going to have breakout game tonight.

Who do you think it will be?

I actually think Meyers could have a good offensive showing tonight.

Seriously stotts is logging the starters? Hopefully he gets some sanity and keeps their minutes low. At least he rested la

I still have hope Leonard can be developed into a useful player. This offseason I would like to see Leonard develop in 4 areas
1) Learn how to receive lob passes for dunks. He will often be the biggest/tallest person on the court and is athletic. This should be an advantage that could be exploited
2) Develop 1 low post offensive move. For the same reason as above
3) Defense. It is unlikely he will ever be anything more than bad but if he can improve from terrible to bad at least he won't be as big a liability on that end(while hopefully becoming a positive on the offensive end)
4) Rebounding. I believe he could be an average rebounder making him a non-liability
Overall he would still need more improvement but if he can become a slight overall positive vs a major liability that would be good for the team

That landing on the Lillard 3 at the buzzer scared me. I hope the starters are done for the rest of the night. (I'm sure they are...otherwise there would have been subs earlier)
