fill in the roster

Post#1 » by skoharry » Fri Mar 13, 2015 10:53 pm

ok so say we resign rolo but don't resign wesley or afflalo, then our roster looks like this
PG - blake/lillard
SG - mccollum/crabbe
SF - batum
PF - LA/meyers
C - rolo/kaman
who would your guys picks be to fill in the roster? that includes scenarios where meyers is the backup PF or the 3rd C, and fill in the 3rd slot.
starting SG
iman shumpert - good defender, gets both rebounds and assists, plays with high energy, gets to the basket, and is a decent enough shooter
danny green - better defender than shumpert and shoots from the 3PT line very well.

3rd PG
shane larkin - decent defender, good shooter and ok passer
ronnie price - has experience running an offense, decent passer, plays good D and is an average shooter

backup SF
tayshaun prince - would be a good mentor for batum, still plays decent D, and still has a decent shot
luc moute - good defender, terrible shooter, rebounds, plays both F positions, and plays with high energy
jared dudley - good 3PT shooter and plays good D
corey brewer - good defender, decent shooter, and plays with high energy

3rd SF
jae crowder -high energy guy and can sink 3's
chris copeland - showed with indiana he could be a starter, good scorer, and gets rebounds
alonzo gee - good defender and middle of the pack shooter

backup PF(if meyers doesn't play the backup PF spot)
brandon bass - good mid range shot, scrappy defender, but is a below average rebounder
darrel arthur - good mid range game but doesn't play D all that well.
luis scola - can score in bunches and middle of the range rebounder
mirza teletovic - can spread the floor, good 3 point shot, but that's it

3rd PF(if meyers does play the backup or the 3rd C)
reggie evans - good rebounder, scrappy defender, but is an offensive liability
lou almundson - middle of the pack rebounder, good defender, but is yet again an offensive liability

3rd C(if meyers plays backup or 3rd PF)
joel anthony - good defender, middle of the pack rebounder, but yet another offensive liability
alexis ajinca - showed improvement with NO, but could just be a fluke year
Defense and rebounding wins games

Very unlikely Portland would fail to sign either Wes or AAA.

Not likely Wes is going to get many offers until later in the summer for teams will have
to know how his rehab is going.

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
