Anything is possible 2-0 is a pretty decent lead but the warriors could win 4 straight pretty unsurprisingly

Wish the Heat had missed the playoffs. Having Dame and Butler would have been amazing.

Little lottery luck and Giannis asks out to play with Lillard?

It would be fascinating to see where Giannis would end up if he asked out.

Would Ant, Sharpe, Nurk + rights to Victor get a trade done?

I wonder what vics value is because that is obviously the deciding factor. It may be one of the few packages that the bucks might actually entertain if they're willing to go nuclear but giannis would have to be asking for out of Milwaukee otherwise there's just no way you trade a superstar like that away

I can't believe I'm rooting for the Lakers. That's how much I dislike Draymond Green and this sleazy Warriors organization.

I feel like I haven't complained about this enough despite constantly bringing it up - The Blazers turned down a rookie contract CJ+2 first round draft picks offer for Jimmy Butler to run a Dame/CJ back court and draft Meyers Leonard. I mean, the 76ers also botched retaining Butler. But this is so much worse of a eff up than Oden over Durant. Blazers legend Meyers Leonard.

I don't recall this offer, but as bad as that one was, not trading Aldridge to Chicago for Butler and a pick the final year before he was a FA still hurts. May be getting the year wrong, but there was quite a bit of talk around Aldridge for Butler at one point I remember.

Who knows how much truth there are to many of these leaked trade proposals? Most are either agents or GMs trying to get a better asking price. And the media gladly passes it on, as it gets people like me reading their content. Jimmy wanted out of Chicago. Blazers needed a SF (and, realistically, have since Batum left. Unless you consider Grant a SF despite playing PF out of position). CJ's value was as high as it would ever be (23ppg scorer on a rookie contract). The Blazers had multiple 1st round picks. And they were swept by the Warriors yet again. Trade made perfect sense.

But I'm cynical and skeptical. Butler isn't a 6'3" or smaller guard. Or a tall, unathletic white guy. So did Olshey really consider this trade?

LaVine had more value than CJ at the time. So decent chance it was all a ruse to make Minnesota overpay. And revisit the trade in 2023:

June 22, 2017: Traded by the Chicago Bulls with Justin Patton to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen.

In retrospect, getting LaVine and Markkanen was a solid haul for Chicago. And far better than having to extend CJ and hoping you get lucky in the draft.

Geez, I LOVE seeing the Lakers lose, especially LeBron ‘I believe I’m the greatest player of all time’ James. The sweep after being up 15 gives me a ton of satisfaction…

Hard not to root for this Denver team. Hard to believe they’ve never been to a conference finals…
