Rip City Remix

Post#1 » by Norm2953 » Fri Nov 10, 2023 2:35 am

The Rip City Remix season opens tomorrow and as expected Kris Murray and Rayan Rupert got sent
down to play with the Remix.

I'm looking forward to see how these guys do with consistent PT. Rupert in particular is as green as
grass but he's 19 and has some physical tools that suggest he might be a player by the time he's 21.

Both look like they'll peak as rotational players at best, but I'm glad they're both getting playing time rather than just sitting on a bench.

Still rooting for Rayan, as he'd fill a need that's hard to find in the modern NBA. Multiple posters commented that he's slow/nonathletic. But he's really not. He just has a BBIQ lower than me, which is scary. Against the best basketball athletes on the planet, if it takes even a fraction of a second to think about what you need to do, an elite athlete will torch you and you will look slow.

Take the exact opposite player in Andre Miller. Dre was never an elite athlete or relied on his athleticism. But he knew where every player was on the court at any given time. He had the defenses read. And he knew what play to run given that situation.

Kris can score. And had more years of development at the college level. He has a better chance of not being a total bust, but in college, he scored points off a high usage rate that isn't likely to carry over to the NBA.

Let's all hope its a language issue with Rayan for I've seen some SA posters ask about Rayan , for they seem to have
wanted to draft him as a countryman for Victor. Not nearly as big as Nic but is nowhere near as experienced as a
19 year old and we all know how green Nic was as a rookie.

Great. So we can't watch Blazers games but we can watch the scrub team.

I saw this on BE but Rayan Rupert perhaps had his first good game in Portland with a 24/12 effort.

The guy needs a lot of playing time with the Remix and with Brogdon and Scoot back from injury,
Murray and Rupert can perhaps can get some consistent PT with the Remix

Yeah, Rayan looked fantastic. Hid work ethic is legendary, and his potential sky high. He was in the Green Room for a legit reason. He's a year away but could get a Jabari++ rotation minutes next year. The best part? He is a super long defensive specialist who could become a real dribble/pass/shoot guy if the work he's putting in pays off.
