Just wow. Agents screw everything up, and Fegan is the worst.

Edit: My theory is Cousins' agents want him out of Sacramento and into a bigger market (to make themselves more money of course), so they're trying to sabotage anything that makes us better.

Nah, it's even more pitiful than that. Karl owned them all once before and they are looking for revenge.

The FO should just go through with it anyway. You don't need an agent's approval, and if this is truly not Cousins himself who has reservations, then what's the risk? Even if Cousins himself is opposed, **** it. DO IT. Don't let the entire franchise be held hostage by one player, no matter how good they are. We're losing either way, so what good is Cousins going to bring?

Ultimately Vivek is the boss, he writes the checks, Cousins is signed.

Winning solves a bunch of problems.

What I can decipher so far is they indeed wanted to protect the pick after getting rid of Malone, they may have had something to do with his firing or not, but once he was done they figured keep the pick and regroup in the off season.

No wonder he seems to lean on Mullin if there is some sort of faction dispute.

One thing for certain is Cousins does not like bs, he will call out his agent, coach, owner, gm, teammate....eventually he will tell it like it is.

Haven't paid too much attention but is that Amick being one of the ones beating the Cousins representation against this drum? Cousins rep already came out and said it wasn't true I believe.. It will be interesting to see if this finalizes today or tomorrow

Interesting to read that Vivek wanted Malone fired against Pete's wishes. This situation keeps getting worse for Vivek.

If that's true than one might think there is credence to Vivek having a strong hand via those behind the scene draft videos in the Stauskas selection as well... If that's true I just gained a lot more respect for PDA (I already respected how much better our roster has been since the beginning of last year), and would like Vivek to know his role.. But that's if this is true.

I think this is all giving way more credit to Vivek that he knows what he's doing than he derserves. Honestly, I think this is all going so bad that Pete/Mully (because they are one in the same) are putting this crap out there to save their hides. Vivek isn't calling the shots at least not the detailed ones. Pete's biggest problem is that his best bud GM hates his best bud coach. His job has been to smooth it out between the sides and just like it was with Malone, if it works out going forward for this team it's not Pete, it's Karl. If I didn't think this team needed a good butt kicking I'd be a little more nervous about the apprehension amongst the players than I am but Karl is exactly the kind of *** kicker these players deserve right now.

I think that message by The Glove can be directed at everybody in the organization; from Vivek all the way down to us the fans. Let's just play basketball!!!

It did seem weird that it was now being put on Vivek after Pete claimed responsibility when it happened and had a conference with Dave to back the decision that was made by some analytics in his words. Vivek also said he wasn't meddling and was informed of the idea to fire Malone by the FO. So either all of the parties were lying trying to protect Vivek, this leak that Vivek is calling the shots seems dubious to me too

Hopefully this gets official soon. Are they waiting til after the Bucks game out of respect to Corbin?

Yeah, I think they want to make the transition as smooth as possible. Could also still be working out details like team option for fourth year, or FO might just want to wait for All-Star break.

I don't think Corbin has been shown much respect throughout this, so I don't see that as their priority. The All Star break is just the most logical time.

It looks like Karl is already getting a staff together. For those who don't know, Vance Johnson is a well-known coach who developed the DDM (Dribble Drive Motion) Offense, which John Calipari eventually used with great success at Memphis and Kentucky. Karl also used it in his last season as coach of the Nuggets, also with great success.

From Wikipedia:

...the Dribble Drive uses a player (usually, but not limited to, the point guard) to dribble-drive towards the basket. The offense is designed in a way that makes it difficult for the defense to help on dribble-penetration without giving up either a layup or an open three-pointer. Depending on how the defense responds, the driving player can either shoot a lay-up, pass to the post player for a shot, or "kick-out" pass to one of the perimeter players. If the ball is returned to the perimeter, the player that receives the pass either takes a three-point shot, or dribble-drives to the basket, restarting the process.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dribble_drive_motion

I assume Karl will tweak and experiment with it throughout the season to play to our strengths in the post, like incorporating some Princeton. I expect this also to factor into future roster decisions. Any type of motion offense, and the DDM in particular, will need more skilled players on the perimeter who can both shoot and penetrate.

Really intruiging to see how Karl adjusts his offense to our roster.

Especially to DeMarcus, as in Denver he usually had his bigs stand outside the court at times so they stay out of the way and be available to dump-offs and offensive rebounds only pretty much.

He adjusted well with Melo who plays totally different then how he'd want, so working with Cousins shouldn't be an issue I'd think. I think he'd make DeMarcus a more effective and efficient passer more then anything.
