Okay. Just going to post what I mentioned on T&T forum.
I am throwing it out there (not my idea, but apparently the Kings FO has discussed it) that this opens up the possibility of Sabonis extending this off season with cap space + 140% rule like Turner did in Indy.

I know it's just from a podcast and we can't trust a Sacramento media member, they're just homers after all, and even when they say they've talked to the FO, that's likely BS. But this definitely opens up this possibility.

This opens up about 33 million.

If they are going to go after Kuzma (god I hope not!) then that better not be all for him! That’s insane.

I’m thinking that it’s a big enough slot for a Siakam and that they figure the et can push to conference finals at least and convince him to extend.

I think it could be true. I just read that he didn’t join team Lithuania in part because of potential salary issues

I’m shocked if he wouldn’t wait til next year, but it would be nice to lock him up if it’s at all possible

What's the salary issues? Do they pay their national guys?

I know Ben Simmons didn't join the Australian team because of money, not being paid, just having the first class operations around the team like NBA teams are used to ie hotels, private jets etc.

I actually like Colby Jones at that pick. He was mocked in the first round for a lot of people. Good playmaker and defender with good size.

I know I'm not hating. I'm still sour Miami took Jaquez Jr. The fact Monte moved up for Colby tells me he probably likes Jaquez Jr.

On Spotrac (they already have Holmes on Dallas) if you renounce every FA plus waive Dozier you have a whisker over $33m in space.

It's definitely for a bigger swing in FA/Trade or as mentioned, Sabonis extension.

The article I read today said he is skipping Lithuania to possibly focus on contract issues with the kings

Wonder how many of the guys that were around late 1st or early 2nd are now going to go undrafted and they will be essentially already signed.
I'm hoping the Kings are all over that.

So Colby Jones was the selection after a trade with Boston? Is that correct?

Wonder if we trade Wong for a later pick?

I'm not going to say it was the Wong direction or Colby is the best cheese we could have received, but we should have seen it coming from a mile away. Experienced players to the Sacramento Kings.

Yea Kings drafted Slawson. He definitely has the traits/skills to match the Kings system. Might be a guy they can develop.

Return to Sacramento Kings
