He's scored 40 on the second night of a b2b this season...

Hes had a great season, and has improved to a level I never thought possible. But he relies on speed/athleticism, and when he's tired and a step off it can get ugly.. need to be more heady than

Malik, needs to be kept at all costs and at this point that means trades need to happen to get below the cap significantly

Trey back

Barnes has been solid without Huerter

I didn't like that Keegan shot but all around solid output

What a stressful win. A beam lit is a beam lit though.

I'm pretty sure that whether we got below the cap or not, early bird rights limits what we can offer Monk in any scenario. We could have 40 million in cap space and could still only offer him up to that 4/72 deal or whatever it is. Not a cap expert but I believe that to be the case.

Ideally Monk likes it in Sac and wants to continue playing here and with Fox and he signs a 1+1 for the max we can offer then opts out after the first year and extends for more when we have full bird rights.

Yup, Kings need to retain Monk.

He’s virtually a de facto starter in crunch time. When he’s on, it brings a different dimension to this team.

Barnes played better this game compared to last game. Credit to him.

I wouldn't consider it to be concerning but it's our only option. We had the same limitation when we needed to extend Holmes as well since both guys originally signed 2 year deals with us. Obviously Monk is worth a lot more so I hope he agrees to stay.

Wow, what a game. Fox is bad, we give magic open 3 after open 3, and still monk, Murray, Barnes step up to make it happen.

Still really want us to make a trade happen! Hated the huerter trade when it happened, and it looks even worse now. We need a solution and need one fast.

At least they got the job done. They were into this one a lot more than last game.
So with the players missing from last game against that other team and the Magic today. They would equal a pretty damn good team, wouldn't they?
And the Kings went 1-1 against them, with basically a 2nd year Banchero the only star on the opposition. Gives you pause for thought.

Anyway, that's how Keegan needs to play (1st half), turn the corner with bad intentions or pull up at foul line. He will get there, but he's going to take a longer time without reps like tonight.

There are teams with cap who could give him a good deal and may need a SG. You have Magic fans and even the Magic twitter intimating them making a move for him this summer. And your asking a guy who hasn't made much to play around with his livelihood. Not sure the Holmes situation is like this... doesn't look a strong nba free gent class to boot

and we know why he definitely wont start, lol

Another game which seemed a good opportunity for Sasha, but he gets a DNP.

Return to Sacramento Kings
