My First Attempt at a Mockdraft

Post#1 » by princeofpalace » Sat Feb 2, 2008 7:46 pm

This is my first shot at a mockdraft. The top 3 are randomized and the rest is going off of NBADRAFT.NETs draft order

1. Grizzlies- Michael Beasley 6

idk i think Lopez will be the first big off the board in the end, and Minny could always draft by need instead of best player.

Our Italian connection seem to think that Gallinari is better than Bargnani, certainly at a similar age. I think by draft day he will be a top 5 or 6 pick.

Lopez is too high. If Griffin was declaring this season id easily take him over Lopez.

Miami has the worst record in the league, not Minny anymore. nbadraft.net isn't updated.

Warriors would want Kevin Love. His outlet passes to Monta would be magical...

A few things wrong here I believe.

Donte Green #6??? THats a bit high don't you think?

Blake Griffin I have not been to impressed with him as of the last 2 months.

Deandre Jordans not in the mock because I dont think he's ready for the NBA, similiary neither Andrew Oglivly or Kousta Koufas are in this mock for that same reason.

I dont think that Brook Lopez is too high, when all is said and done he is one of the top prospects in this draft. He already appears to be NBA ready and still has considerablle upside left. Also, he fits the Twolves perfectly. Acquiring him allows Al Jeff to play his natural position of PF and let Lopez defend the true C's that Al has trouble with.

Maybe Im a bit more high on Donte Green than others, but I definately think that he has tremendous upside. Yes- he is a bit of a tweener but I think he has the body type that could allow him to add weight and play as a PF.

Griffin is a little inconsistent and yes his play of late has been a little underwhelming but its only been for the past 4 games or so and I expect him to bounce back.

I'll probably make a new mock with the updated draft order soon

I'm not to much into Character. From what I have seen could be totally wrong he can't run great. With Nellies system it would hurt us. Plus we have gotten two big guys in the past two drafts, who we are still developing. We don't want another one.

First off, Patrick O'Bryant is out, and you need to draft a big because this off season Webber, Andris, Barnes, Peitrus and Croshere are all FA so I think some of them are not back. Secondly, the front lines that LA and PHX have means you cannot small ball them because they will absolutely destroy you on the glass.

If the Clipps don't extend Brand, then I can see us drafting Griffin. But as of right now, there is no sense to make that pick.
