Haha... Moon is a rookie, but he's not part of the draft class...

Big Baby scoring 20? So what? Ike Diogu dropped 28 on the Wallaces as a rookie...

Yi's ceiling is the next Dirk... Green would be good if he could shoot the ball?

I dont know who's side your on... you could just be extremely clever and sarcastic...

Stuckey is showing he will be good even in limited minutes, not to mention he is learning behind Billups and Rip.

Rodney broke his left hand in three places in the last preseason game. He's played a total of 14 games with little to no practice in between. He's been wearing a hand brace and fell on his hand in the game against Dallas. He didn't re-break it but it swelled up pretty bad.

He's not playing poorly, but his game should improve once his hand fully heals.

As for Arron Afflalo. His stats don't tell the story. Piston fans were livid when Afflalo was drafted over a bigman. He has changed most minds already. He is a sneaky quick defender. He's a headsy player who makes few mistakes and doesn't foul often. He makes plays that just blows you away, but his offense really hasn't come to him yet.

Both gaurds are high percentage free throw shooters but lousy 3 pt shooters. Once they get familiar playing together and getting a feel for each other, I think them playing together will work better in the limited minutes they've played.

Stuckey: 16.4 mpg 5.3 pts 1.6 reb 2.4 ast 1.2 stls 35% fg 25% 3pt 89%ft.
Afflalo: 11.6 mpg 3.6 pts 1.5 reb 0.7 ast 0.3 stls 44%fg 19%3pt 85% ft.

Ike Diogu never gets any minutes... but here are a few stats on him when he gets 22+ minutes a night this season. A low number might i add...

PT......| RB | MP......|
13 .........3..........23
16..........6..........26
12..........4..........22
9...........10.........22

Uh, yeah... unbelievably, defense is part of the equation too.

I'm sure hes an unbelievable fantasy sleeper for you. He's lost time to TROY MURPHY. Try watching a game instead of reading a boxscore... :banghead:

EDIT: But hey, way to factor our the other games... classic RealGM right there  I'm sure O'Brien would love to give 22+ minutes to an offensive player who wasn't playing offense in the other games.. how does a PF/C shoot 43.5%? Averaging 2 fouls in 12 minutes...

Horford nearly averaging a double double as a rookie despite not being close to the focal point of his offense isn't impressive?

What a joke

Is this a serious thread? How are Al Horfords numbers not impressive? He is averaging 9/10 as a rookie.

Too even begin to discuss the merits of a draft class you have to wait at least three seasons.

Some players are overrated, some players are underrated. Guys like Belinelli (#18) and Almond (#25) are no names right now, they aren't playing, but I can see these guys contribute within the next 2-3 years.

As stated, this draft is all about potential - we won't be able to properly evaluate it for another couple years. My opinions on the first 21 picks:

1. Greg Oden - As long as he can put injuries behind him, he is likely to be a great player.

2. Kevin Durant - Don't love the shooting percentages, but he's in a tough situation being the #1 scoring option on a bad team at only 19 years old. In a few years he should be a tmac-like player.

3. Al Horford - averaging roughly 9 points, 10 boards and a block - should be a solid center for years to come, though he's probably more of a natural PF. Could be an allstar.

4. Mike Conley - injury troubles, looks impressive when he plays despite mediocre stats. Projects to Tony Parker with better play making abilites. Should be an allstar.

5. Jeff Green - decent at everything, great at nothing. Not going to be a star.

6. Yi Jianlian - Very nice athleticism for a 7 footer, should be a supporting star in the future (i.e. not a #1 scoring option, but someone who can put up 18 ppg with decent boards and blocks)

7. Corey Brewer - was drafted for his defence, but even still his offence is a bit disapointing. Should be a shutdown defender in the future though.

8. Brandan Wright - haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion

9. Joakim Noah - hustle/role player, wrong pick at #9?

10. Spencer Hawes - haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion

11. Acie Law - a bust in the making, as stated he is a sg in a pg's body. A rich man's Juan Dixon

12. Thaddeus Young - shows tons of potential, should be a very solid player

13. Julian Wright - haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion

14. Al Thornton - I love his game, has really been starting to show his potential over the last month or so. Should be a very solid player, though not quite all-star quality

15. Rodney Stuckey - detroit is a tough place for rookies. Jury is still out

16. Nick Young - haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion

17. Sean Williams - elite shot blocker, amazing athlete for a PF/C, but still a very raw player. If he can get his work habit in order, and round out his game, he could be a very nice player and a serious defensive presence.

18. Marco Belinelli - looked good in the summer, but who knows how he'll fair in the NBA. Nice jumper.

19. Javaris Crittenton - has looked good in limited pt in LA, should be a solid role player

20. Jason Smith - haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion

21. Daequan Cook - looks like a solid pure scorer in the making (18 ppg type player?)

Give them at least until their first contract renewal to make this assessment. The earliest I would opt for would be the first time you see a re-draft, but need to get to that first contract

saying that this draft is overrated is a stretch the top pick is not playing due to injury and they havent even played one full season yet. Give these kids a break. Looking back at this draft 3 or so years down the line and evaluate it then.

Well I think the 2001 draft was incredulously overrated given the hype that highschool players were given.

Unfortunately right now Acie Law does look like a bust.

It's like the Hawks are cursed at the PG position.

THe curse of the Jason Terry!

2001 draft was the most overrated of all time to answer the question.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

He's only been healthy the first 3 games of the season (where he shot 57%). He's shooting 50% from the floor and 80% from the line for his career, so your argument really carries no weight. He also averages 20/10 and over a block per-40 minutes throughout his career. Why isn't he playing? A) he's been hurt, B) Murphy hits the 3, a requirement for Jim O'Brien's offense.

The real question is, how can anyone take Baron Davis seriously as an alleged "elite" point guard when he's a career 41% shooter who only hits 69% of his free throws?

Answer: they can't, hence why he's not an All-Star.

Give it more than half a season before you declare it "Most Overrated of All Time"
