I think that's a bit hyperbolic, we've had some amazing passers come out recently (Lonzo, LaMelo, Trae, etc.). That said, if AB isn't an outlier passer *as a starting point guard*, he is really close.

I think most people agree he’s a very good passer, just maybe not one of those creative savant types with the ball in his hands. To me he’s kind of a “flowchart” passer who always makes the right play

Great vision...not great execution and may not be on ball enough to take advantage of it. Kind of like Kevin Huerter in that sense.

But look...he's not close to LaMelo or Giddey in terms of vision. Those guys are elite tier. AB is not that guy. He's also not Trae Young or Garland. Those are simply better passers. Full stop. In fact I'd say AB is well behind someone like Draymond Green in terms of vision.

And for FFS Jokic makes him look like a black hole.

Lonzo had FOUR teammates shooting > 40% from 3, AB's highest was Brazile shooting 38% and he only played 9 games

assist rate is useless, no one in their right mind thinks Barnes is a better orchestrator of offense than Black coming out.

Barnes also had 2 40%+ 3P shooters and four other 36%+ 3P shooters around him in the rotation.

Black had no teammate over 35% from 3.

Statistics without context is useless. Maybe everyone here isn't obsessed with statistical analysis as me, but I don't see the point in posting one single statistic and drawing a conclusion from it.
