(vids): NBA Draft Lottery Index
With slim pickings in this class, a good lottery outcome could mean the difference between a future star and a career role player. My patience is so thin that I’ve been watching YouTube videos of previous draft lotteries. I wanted to prepare by reminding myself how often teams get lucky. If you look back you’ll be reminded of how unpredictable and sometimes unbelievable they can be. You’ll also see how a top pick can dramatically change a franchise, for better or for worse.
Curious to see how things played out in the past? Want to examine how its evolved over the years? Forget how it works? Want a history lesson? Bored? Or if you just need a lottery fix like I did, check these out. I had some free time on my hands so I indexed all of the draft lotteries that are available on YouTube. Hope you enjoy and good luck in the lotto (Raps fans).

Re: (vids): NBA Draft Lottery Index
The 1999 one was classic.
All the late team representatives shaking their heads in disgust when they didn't move up and Paul Silas with that fake ass **** eating grin on his face when they were announced as 3rd overall lol, then Jerry Krause shaking his 4th chin like a skyscraper in an earthquake.
Good stuff. Indeed.

Re: (vids): NBA Draft Lottery Index
Lol the 1995 draft lottery was held in Toronto, I was too young to remember any of that but Raptors got a steal at 7th pick in 1995, what a dynamic point guard Damon was. Oh yeah, also that guy named Vince Carter too in the 98 draft he was pretty...good.

OK, so when was the last time the team with the worse record actually won the lottery?
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

It's happened 4 times since they introduced the lottery in 1985.
1988-Danny Manning
1990- Derrick Coleman
2003- LeBron
2004- Dwight

Thanks man. So chances are the Cavs won't get the top pick then. It's happened 4 times in the last 26 years.

Re: (vids): NBA Draft Lottery Index
Just saw that, my fault. I meant Minny. This is interesting, just a guess of mine obviously, but I would venture to say that Sacramento, Washington, and Toronto...2 of those 3 teams will get the top 2 picks. Just seems like the lotto favors those 3-5 worse record teams more than the 1-2.
