Cade has once again regressed to his normal skills levels, which is a crappy role player in the league.

Cade-stand long to point out hot streaks of 10-20 games when in reality he has objectively sucked if you look at his whole career.

“You look at what Cade is doing right now — he’s one of the hottest players in the second half of the season,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said Saturday before Dallas’ 142-124 victory over the Pistons, a game in which Cunningham scored 33 points, dished out 10 assists and grabbed nine rebounds. “You can see he’s shooting the ball at a high rate, he’s scoring the ball, he’s being aggressive, and you can see he’s comfortable with what he’s trying to get to.”

Since the All-Star break, Cunningham has been playing at an All-NBA level. The 22-year-old is averaging 25.8 points, 7.9 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 47.6 percent from 3 on 7.0 attempts per game. In those nine games, Cunningham has a true shooting percentage of 62.5, which ranks fourth among players who have a usage rate of at least 25 percent and also have played nine games in that span. He’s only behind Denver’s Nikola Jokić, Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dallas’ Luka Dončić.

And while Kidd highlighted Cunningham’s play since the All-Star break, he’s been playing at a high level since the calendar turned to 2024. Over his last 21 games, Cunningham is averaging 21.2 points, 8.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 39.8 percent from 3.

Cade is 6/31 from three since this post.

Hes playing injured.

Also our crappy roster has been crappier then ever before after missing guys like Tecch and losing Stew and Ausar for the season. Durens been out etc. We have been starting multiple gleaguers and James Wiseman over this stretch.

Regardless have seen enough of flashes of high level play to build on for next year. Time to shut him.

they got to do whatever the cost to put a team around him, he has all the tools to be a top 30 or higher player....i like him sticking around detroit in that market....i'm afraid that front office though may be a mess....it's tough seeing those clips on my timeline of cade on the bench just staring into nothing...contemplating ...clearly he wants to win but it's a process

dude gets so many excuses. If he was as good as his defenders claim he'd be elevating the play of everyone around him and putting the team on his back and leading them to wins but he hasn't. Just a lot of empty stats on a bad team. Yes the front office and coaches have sucked but if he was better he'd make not only his teammates better but them as well.

I think there's a very good chance he's moved. Maybe a swap with a team that has their own "star" that might be disgruntled and needs a change of scenery. Maybe Cade can settle in as a more appropriate #2 and have success. Maybe play better defense, focus on playmaking and less on scoring. Pistons could hand the team to Ivey. I could see the Jazz sending Markkanen, the Celtics moving Jaylen Brown, or teams with lots of young talent like the Thunder or Rockets being interested.

Cade is largely the same player as when he was drafted almost 3 years ago; Recently he has played a stretch of 10 games of his best basketball, yet it still kinda sucks.

This is plot of the exponential smoothing (span = 33 games), along with estimates of 95% CI based on exponential weighted standard deviation estimates (same span). His career mean game score is 13.4. Recently he has improved to a mean of 15.

Cade is closer to Jalen Green who most consider a bust, with a season average game score of 12.4 than Luka (28.3) whom Detroit fans have historically compared Cade to. Green's recent stretch of games have shown a ceiling much higher than Cade if you really want to read into 10 games in the post-Draya preganancy era Green.

There is literally no evidence whatsoever that Cade is a high impact winning basketball player until he 1) leads his team to wins, 2) puts up efficient stats regardless of outcome. He cannot do either right now, yet he have to hear endless excuses be made for this bum. Lest us not forget the classic excuse that Cade has had some of the worst teammates in high school, college and NBA; which explains his lack of offensive efficiency as his teammates do not command respect on offese.

Not worried about him. Im expecting his stats to be alot better next year. Hes shown he can play at a Star level during long stints.

Crazy thing is that they turned down SGA for him pre draft.

Have to give credit to him, dude is absolutely trying to will the Pistons to some victories in what is a lost season, surrounded by a bunch of G-Leaguers.

Last 3 games - 33.7 PPG, 5.7 APG, 4.3 RPG on 47/47/90 splits

And for CptCrunch's benefit, an average game score of 24.4 (the only stat that matters apparently). "Crappy role player" indeed...

I don't think that was ever confirmed.
