If I was GM of top 3 teams I'd go Wemby, Scoot, Black.

Before anyone yells at me, just remember there is a reason I'll be watching from the couch.

I wonder if some team is going to try and draft the twins to keep them together. I think there's a chance the Magic could trade up with the Pistons. They have the #11 pick and a bunch of young players to dangle. After #4 there really isn't too much separation between #5 and #11.

funny how we all thought we knew what a Sam Presti pick looks like, Leonard or Coulibaly or something and then he trades up for a 6-2 PG

u just never know which player each GM will just fall in love w/

How the hell did TJD fall to 57?

he really fits what OKC is trying to build though as a team (except from the lack of passing skill).

To me that was a big L for Vecenie, not because of his evaluation of Cam, but because he clearly doesn't have good intel.

How could he not have know about these flags with all his supposed sources? Answer...his sauces aren't that hot.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Cam Whitmore Top 5 eh? I disagreed the entire time even before the news of his knees leaked out. He also doesn't have any point forward skills.

Cam Whitmore was massively overrated on RealGM. Now, Whitmore has knee issues when his NBA career has not even started yet. He is 2nd round talent. Even at pick 20, he was pick too high. He's a raw project.

Congrats on making the NBA, Cam. He has to work hard on his weaknesses. He has a lot of them. The jabronies jocking for him (as witnessed in early in this thread) was cringe.

Rough Summer League debut from Brandon Miller today. I don't want to pile on reactionary views / those calling him busts and being overly critical off of a one game sample. With that said, there are areas serving as explanatory factors as why I wasn't as high on him (compared to some big boards and his selection at two) as a prospect. That said, I hope he puts it together and finds ways to improve his weaknesses. I think the most prominent one with the most implications is a struggle to create space or use his strength inside the arc. That will have to change if he wants to transition from a stellar shot-making wing into one that can make more magic happen off of a live dribble.

he doesn't have the movement skills or athleticism or ceiling of a top 3 pick, that's why he never should've been one and the idea that he was taken above a freak like Scoot is still mind bending

don't want to turn 1 SL game into something bigger but this opinion holds true regardless of how he played tonight.

Yeah there’s various statistical and granular indicators some of the areas he struggled with earlier today / tonight we’re recruiting question marks and tendencies not hard to detect from his film at Alabama.

I wanted Scoot, but Miller moved just fine, he was really fast on the floor actually. He was jittery at the start and needs to get stronger, but he finished with 18 pts on 11 shots and his teammates were god awful. He was active on defense. If this performance was while he was on the Lakers or Knicks or Spurs, there would be a ton of praise, but becuase its the Hornets, its an easy target for a hot take. I still remember your takes on LaMelo after his first preseason game where he had 0 points. He'll be fine.

im not saying he won't be fine, I had him 8th on my board, if i didn't think he wouldn't be fine I wouldn't have had him that high, but there is a huge difference between 8th and going 2nd overall over Scoot.

anyways dont want to rehash scoot vs miller debates, we'll let it play out, just quick thoughts after 1 SL is all it is.

Rough Summer League debut for Wemby. I don’t want to call him a bust though. I might wait a couple more Summer League games.

IDK seems like all the info we need

Also, can't believe the FG% of Charlotte lol. Not sure how much of that Wemby gets credit for, but at least some. Curious to see what kind of offensive player he ends up being.

miller looked alot more fluid then jabari smith of houston does and his handle looked fine; 10 fold better then wemby...shoot miller put wemby on skates.....jabari is also not as effiient as a guy like keegan murray.....really jabari's 3 point shot has just not been as deadly as it was pruposed to be prior to draft. And if he's not dominating the mid area on postups like an aldridge type, then he's just kind of not doing alot on offense out there. a real defacto role player.

Yea, Miller is gonna be good despite him missing shots. His handle is way better than I thought it was going to be. He's definitely got a lot of young Tatum's qualities. I think he will have to defend bigs though. Dude gets roasted on D by quick guys.
