Looks like a Top-3 talent. Absurd handle for his size at that age. Like, not saying he isnt working to have a good handle but its so good you have to think he just has a natural, non-teachable skill here handling the rock.

Reminds me a slightly less athletic high school version of Brandon Ingram.

Yes he did, party in my house. I mean it is sad that we can't develop jack in our own yard anymore, but whatever.

Speaking about Poku comparison, well, they are both white.

i am most likely getting ahead of myself but honestly this dude might be the most impressive prospect regardless of class and I know that's wild to say at this point

this is one of the instances, where you look at American prospect crossing and dunking on highscoolers and wonder, how much better for him would be if he practiced with Real Madrid players ala Luka.

I will say this Ive always been high on him since Duke was recruiting him back when. I am even higher on him now after watching a good amount of Magic games. His handle and movements remind me of Franz. But I think Matas is more athletic than Franz and has a tighter handle. But watching a lot of Franz this year, that dude has no issue at all getting to wherever he wants on the court.

And watching that has really backed me off of him being a boom/bust guy (I said I would no doubt side with the boom with him) and just as him as a boom guy. Ya Im all aboard the Matas as the #1 guy as of right now in that class.

i guess if Naas reclasses he could be a guy that gets looks at #1 but yea, don't see how anyone should be ahead of Buzelis at this point, just not a very exciting class. of course it's still super early and anything can change as we know.

Naas will no doubt add some extra much needed juice to the class. But I wont lie I have soured a little on him some. I still think he is a top 5 recruit, but I used to view him as maybe the most promising recruit in high school. So even if he joins I would still have Matas #1.

Everyone in that class just stalled it seems like. Brooks shot up the class and I like Brooks but he isnt some crazy elite prospect. Its just the fact that guys like Wagner, Edwards, Mgbako just didnt really improve all that much. I mean it seems like its a every time thing now when they have these events over the weekends its the same headline every time. The underlcassmen look better and are out performing the upperclassmen.

thoroughly unimpressed with buzelis last night. a complete non fact in sunrise christian's close win over oak hill. and it wasn't just that he had a bad game, but he legit didn't look good on either end of the floor over the course of the entire game. had difficulty getting his shot, had weak hands, shaky handle, poor defensive reactions, didn't make plays for teammates. i mean, there were no redeeming qualities. this is a dude people are saying will be the #1 overall pick in just over a year and he was struggling be relevant in a HS game. he was at best the 4th best player on his team yesterday and i think that's being kind.

Cooper Flagg looks like a better player already - and not better for his age. Just better period.

it's just one game, but good heavens dude looked awful out there.

Thats disappointing to hear, personally, never really seen him play outside these youtube mix shorts. Cooper Flag is indeed awesome, I watched him in FIBA, and I was amazed how good he was for a 16 year old. Not sure what ceiling he has, but he sure is early bloomer.

since my last post, i saw him again, and while he was better, he simply doesn't look like anything special. hardly stood out, but did some good things. probably had 8-10 points or so.
