The problem with GG is that he's got a bunch of things that look great, but he's just flat out not very good, and he's not a tremendous athlete either. Teams are more willing to bet on upside and potential when there is top tier athletic talent. His ability to take tough shots is a hard thing to bank your hat on when that's your one thing, you gotta do the simple things first and most importantly.

I mean.. hes pretty much the same player as Obi Toppin.. just 5 years younger. Landed with an org that needs young production from a big. He'll be fine

He's literally nothing like Toppin. Toppin is extremely explosive as an attacker, and it always manifested with rim pressure. GG looks a lot more comfortable with the ball like a wing to me, even if it's been pretty up and down so far.

He's more like Tobias Harris.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

He's nothing like Toppin. He's a bigger, slower, less quick, more explosive, taller, raw Marshon Brooks.

Toppin doesn't have much of an in between game. I don't think they're similar offensively.

Deeeep bag offensively, ways to go everywhere. I think with natural maturation he will be a fine offensive player. If he really buys in all around you could be looking at an all star in a few years.

I am hoping he can get to be a good off the bench forward in 2-3 seasons.

it's just hard to come up with many players in his age bracket, size with that kind of offensive repertoire. if he finds even median level consistency/decision making he's at least a starting level 3/4.

This kid is for real. I think if he had gone back to South Carolina he’d be in the hunt for a top 3 pick.

I somewhat agree. If he had returned to college he would have been in the hunt for top 3 pick. \

But south carolina was not a good place for him to be. Horrible spacing, bad team, no other offensive weapons to GG had to carry the offense on his own, had no one to take some of that offensive pressure off him, no one to make shots if he kicked it to them which resulted in GG forcing shots..defenses loaded up on stopping GG.

If he went back to school, he should have transferred to a school that would have put him in a better position to succeed.

Early returns show that a lot of GMs should be fired.

So Tobias Harris.

He definitely moves like him. That a good player tho a versatile 3/4 who can give you 15-19 a game and hit a 3. If he can turn into that is a very good outcome.
