I think he should be a lock for 2nd overall.

He looks like Gobert out there now that he's healthy and in shape.

"Big man with weight and injury problems" is obviously a major concern, but also Gobert is a higher ceiling than every other player in this draft.

Clingan is playing similar to last season, he was the backup then. All this talk about injuries, weight, etc, they just didn't notice last year.

He is making himself some serious cash in this tournament.

What I love the most about Clingan is he has great hands. He will catch anything you throw at him in the paint.

His FT form is still very poor. He's going to get hacked a lot at next level.

He’s a way better prospect that Edey

It's such a weak college class Clingan seems like the top guy right now not counting the international guys.

Illinois has been eaten alive by centers all year.

I take Edey all day.

Clingan is Zubac with a little better D and worse offense.

Illinois guards just kept challenging him. So dumb. Shannon barely touched the bal. No floaters or mid range.

still not convinced about Clingan. I'm sure he'll play in the league but lottery? He's listed at 7'2" but I think he's closer to 6'11". He has zero hops too.

No, he's every bit of over seven feet. The guy is a giant, just like Edey.

This is a great article on Clingan, albeit quite long.

https://www.nhregister.com/connecticutmagazine/news-people/article/donovan-clingan-uconn-men-s-basketball-18424508.php

But within it, it says Clingan has grown and measured at 7'3 barefoot this summer.

We also have this from 3 years ago, when he was 16 yrs old and measuring at 7'2

7' sounds about right. Definitely not 7'2" or more though. I've seen him next to several bigs like sub 6'9" Timme, and supposed 7' guys like Ware and Dickinson to know he's very comparable, maybe a little bit taller. My guess is if they play Purdue in the final you'll see that Edey is easily a few inches taller. It won't be a mystery much longer. Combine is coming up!

If Purdue/UConn end up in the title game, how will seeing Edey/Clingan impact the 2024 draft?

I'm hesitant to compare anyone to Gobert, the best defensive big man of his generation. What about Mitchell Robinson with some passing chops for a more modest comp? Robinson is also a guy that struggles playing 30 MPG, but give him more passing ability and that's a really impactful big man
