You love it?

I just think that Flagg’s offense is going to translate way better than his D at the next level. All of these highlight reels of him stuffing 5’10 white dudes isn’t gonna happen in the league.

I remember the days when Zion wasn't going to be able to bully anyone at the NCAA level, and would be a 12-15 ppg guy at the NBA level according to expert prognosticators on here. Not disagreeing with your take or saying you're wrong though.

Correct. He isn't a Generational Talent as a whole and it is his defensive versatility along with Offensive Feel and IQ which gives him the total of Package.

Strongly disagree, while Budinger and Pat have big verticals they needed a lot more of a runway to get going compared to Flagg.

They were 6'7 and 6'5 respectively and he's 6'8/6'9 but neither of them ever got more than 1 block per game in college and I cannot see anything like that happening with Flagg, besides just having better instincts he's a much quicker jumper.

I wish he went to UConn. I think he would have received better coaching. However, he is an elite athlete with size. Here's hoping he doesn't become a flopper and continues to rim protect.

Competitive, does a lot of things well. Good size, good athleticism (he's not some freak athlete though, but pretty versatile). Probably will be a good NBA player too. I don't feel he's superstar material though, he'll need to keep developing at a rapid pace in a lot of areas for that to come true.

He reminds me of a rookie KG or a GATech Bosh.

If this guy doesn't show much offensively at Duke, averages 12ppg on like 58ts%, 34% from 3, is he still worth taking number 1?

Depends on what he shows defensively, and also if any of the other guys in his class overtake him. Those are basically Wiggins Kansas offensive numbers and he still went 1, but yea that would be a pretty big red Flagg.

A defensive wing prospect like this has never gone #1, it's almost always a big man. So even if he defends like Herb Jones in college does that kind of player have cornerstone potential? They were drafting Wiggins in hopes that he could be Tmac.

True, but that's why it depends on if another guy overtakes him. You wouldn't be thinking that Flagg would be a defensive prospect, it would just be something that he excelled at and you would be hoping his offensive year was just an outlier.

Feels like a wild hypothetical without any real backing other than a "what if"...

I'm not claiming he's gonna average that, I'm asking how bad of an offensive player would he need to be for his defense to still get him drafted #1.

We don't even know if his defense is going to translate past high school though. Like how good is his defense in this hypothetical scenario?

No idea, he also could average 18 ppg and still not be the #1 pick. What he does is only part of the equation, plenty of other talented guys in the class who could just prove to be better than he is come draft time next year.

If Scheyer is dumb and plays Flagg off the ball behind the 3 pt line then Duke won't go far and Flagg might not go #1. If Flagg plays point forward and runs the offense then he should win Player of the Year and Duke has a real chance at making the Final Four.

Idk everytime I see the way he uses his length, fluidity, and finishing he looks like Anthony Davis to me. He’s not as vertically explosive, but I think he’s be better facing up and attacking on offense, and playing like AD on defense than he will be at point forward.

The way he moves, blocks shots all over, rebounds and finishes above the rim and with touch just remind me of Davis.

Does anyone else notice how little Cooper has to jump to dunk? Reminds me a bit of Durant. I'm estimating that his wingspan is somewhere between 7'2" and 7'4" and 9'0" to 9'3" for his standing reach. His hand size looks solid too; that may be playing a factor here.
