Yeah well once Malaki the shooter becomes Malaki the efficient scorer watch out.

He clearly has a green light to shoot. I now give him the green light to score lol

Malaki MUST learn to not expose the ball. Keeps getting blocked even as he beats his man.

Grey is right. Once Branham learns to finish those drives and not Lonnie Walker them he will be dangerous......

That was Tre Jones own fault. He let Payton walk right in and didn't box out.....

Curry and that dancing **** is really bush league IMO. Soo annoying....

I understand the "stop him and he wont do it" argument but the dude could make 1-16 and the one he makes he will be dancing around like he was 16-16

Poole is brutal for it, too. Klay makes seeing hand gestures that make your eyes roll.

I just don't like it.

Not against fun or guys celebrating but there's a showboating element that's unnecessary and distasteful.

Exactly. And then there is Green with his mouth running constantly and flat out dirty play. Its just an unlikable bunch of guys.

I really dont care that much other than I dont like them because of it. Other players and coaches seem to be fine with their behavior and let them get away with it so go ahead and look stupid and not stop them.

4TH Q: SPURS 115 WARRIORS 130

Well it was close until it wasn't - insights from the road lol

But staying competitive with a strong home team, an experienced one with a lot on the line themselves, and even having a lead coming into the final Q with three starters unavailable was good to see.

That we're competing and responsive to Pop's colourful halftime sentence enhancers (not that these were necessary in this game), and that were finding positives for individual and team play is part of the lessons and process of this season.

We had six players in double figures, made 15 3s on 39.5%, grabbed 36 boards (14 on O), had 8 steals, 4 blocks, 27 assists to 13TOs (these cost us 17 points but we got 23 off of theirs).

The made FTs, PITP, and fast break points as well as FGAs were near even. Really the main difference maker were what our opponent specializes in, making 3s. Three of their players combined for 20 of their 21 made 3s. After us leading 88-87 after the 3RD, they exploded in the 4TH for 8-15 from the arc. Sure enough, five extra made 3s and there's the 15-point deficit.

A game has a lot of elements, ebbs and flows, and many details factor into the outcome. And sometimes it's just as straightforward as a team excelling at what it does best.

We've had games in which we didn't rotate properly or contest well but we actually did more of both than not in this game, just got bested by elite shooting.

Tre led us with 6 assists but Mamu, KJ, and Blake each had 4, with all but one player registering at least one. Both of those are positives, as we want ball sharing team wide, and for a waiver claim big who is showing terrific vision and touch, a forward who hasn't always looked for the mates, and a rookie who is learning do so, we have some better insights into their growth.

This is frankly something we need Malaki to get better at. There have been too many missed opportunities in this game and several others in which team mates did the right thing in running the lanes and moving to open spaces only for them to watch empty-handed as Malaki drove into multiple defenders or took contested shots without even looking to anyone else. He passed when he doesn't have a shot, picks up his dribble, and needs a bail out. It's not *always* the case, but these now stand out.

That said, he's going to be a stud scorer. You can see the confidence and skill and creativity already. And he's a willing learner, which is a skill in itself, so I'm at ease with how his season has progressed overall.

Not shy Malaki led us with 21FGAs making only 8, so part of his decision making process will be better shot-pass selection, and then also finishing at the rim in a way that protects the ball better.

KJ led us with 22. Both he and Malaki made 3-7 from 3.

We had two players with double doubles, Mamu with 13 on efficient 6-12 (0-2 from 3) and 11 and Dieng with 14 and 10, scoring on 5-7 and leading us with 4-5 from 3, all in only 17 minutes.

Blake was ever the blue, Julian led the bench with 8FGAs and 6 attempts from 3. He was second after Dieing with 5 boards.

Graham blessedly only took 4 shots lol. No offense, but we pretty much know what we have with him.

Barlow more often than not does the right thing, is in the right place at the right time, and is competitive. He has good chemistry with Blake on O and good cohesion with Julian on D. Hope to see more of him in the upcoming games. Needs to get stronger, but the mental aspect of understanding the game and adjusting stands out well.

Loved our competitiveness. "These Spurs just won't go away" is the most repeated phrase the GSW commentators kept making throughout the game, giving plenty of props to Pop for always having a team ready to play and compete regardless of who was available and to this young team for responding. That we hear this at this point of the season in such a development-focused one is a big compliment.

I love the spoiler role but not for it's own sake, only if it comes with playing the right way, instilling right foundations along the way. Let's keep at it.
