NBA.com has Keldon Johnson all the way down at number 329 for TS% this season.

Add in his poor defense, I'd be selling high at the deadline before he completely drops off.

He doesn't have the handles for his position and as I've said for years, is way undersized for the way he plays inside the three point line.

Looking league wide, I'm struggling to find many teams he'd even start for to be honest.

I'm fine with him being a role player but he clearly doesn't see himself as one.

I'm trying to wrap myind around what a new average standard is/will be with an upcoming CBA and TV deal.

That will be the comparison, not current ones to other centers.

Oh. ok... Not sure I've heard the JMcD interest by us before but these are seldom known ahead of time.

Sure sounds like the likelihood of Jakob being traded is higher. But that just may be media pressure put out by rival teams vying for his services. We can afford to be patient for our asking price either way.

Forward Jalen McDaniels continues to be a name several teams like the Suns, Raptors, Jazz, Pacers and Spurs are closely monitoring, but the Hornets value the 6-foot-9 forward whom they have developed over the past four seasons. Teams with interest and cap space this offseason, such as the Jazz, Pacers and Spurs, may opt to wait until free agency to court McDaniels, who will be unrestricted, instead of trading an asset to acquire him now while having to compensate him in July.

Several teams are increasing their pursuit of Spurs center Jakob Poeltl, and it appears a move to the Eastern Conference could be possible ahead of the deadline. The Raptors and Celtics are among the teams expressing interest in Poeltl, sources say. The 27-year-old will be arguably the top unrestricted free agent big man in July.

Oh wow. Full steam ahead, then. I guess it was mutually beneficial while it lasted in that he stabilized us well while our young guys were seasoning and he got to showcase his game. Wish we'd have gotten something for him but at least he gets to choose where he goes and now we open a roster spot for Barlow or Bassey, so onward we go!

I was wondering if this was to make room to sign Danny Green to retire as a Spur until I saw the Bassey thing...

So this along with some murky travel paperwork situation explains his absence. Doesn't matter much this season and good for Bassey (who likely would have been called up anyway) but the transaction is a bit messy for sure:
