Collins steal. Collins full court dribble. Collins uses Spurs on either side of him as decoys for a fake pass and layup.

Spacing issue AGAIN with Sochan too close to Julian in the left corner.

BUT...

SOchan passes on the 3 to Julian, Julian fakes and drives, and DOES NOT TRY TO DUNK, instead, lays it up off glass. Good and good.

Julian JUST STANDING THERE IN THE PAINT with arms at his sides, not jab stepping, not hands up to bother contesting. Just passively watching the shot go in.

Can I stand there and get the best view for shots going in?

League minimum!

2ND Q: SPURS 47 SUNS 65

The good news: we scored 30 points, a 13 point improvement over the 1ST Q.

The bad news: Our opponent also bettered their 1ST Q output by 13 points, scoring 39.

This is not the same team we defeated twice early in the season. We caught them then. They are far more cohesive now. On the other hand, we have been going away from what's been working for us.

We set up right plays but for the wrong guys; we read the initial play well but don't react well to opponent adjustments; we walk through some sets with glaring spacing issues that Hail Mary shots at times rescue us. Only 11 assists attest to it.

And because of the above, we once again are struggling through inefficiency. Only Wemby, Tre, and Collins are efficient.

Wake up, plug in, play with pride. Thanks.

Well when the shots are not falling we have to get stops and we're not getting much of either.

15-7 to start the 3RD.

Pop timeout.

Sochan is soo much better roaming around the basket on offense and getting feeds for buckets. He is not a playmaker at all but can still be effective in this way. Why our coaching staff does not see this is beyond me..

Yeah we miscommunicated there on D... We actually went away from the basket in our end as they were driving and alley ooping towards it lol

Julian wide stance, good angles, and swipe for the steal.

Great unselfish passing on O ending with a Sochan dish to Wemby for the dunk.

We're down 26 after Keldon makes a bucket.

Sean: "Maybe Keldon gets on a heater here."

Bless his heart lmao

He's a good off ball playmaker which is what had us try the on-ball experiment.

I feel he's getting the full free rein to try things - this is the season to do it - but it's also about seeing if he has the right recognition and reads and responses to determine who we go forward with.

May have mentioned this before, I had a prof in grad school who gave the class LOTS of rope and he said it was up to us to either pull ourselves up with is or hang lol

3RD Q: SPURS 71 SUNS 103

We lose this one getting walloped 38-24 so even worse than the previous Q.

We can't make shots; we can't get stops.

We're facing an experienced and locked in team with far different goals, but for our purposes, ours are no less important for our future.

Let's... just compete ...

Let's also have some Dom minutes!

Well we are hanging for sure. I've seen enough of the nonsense.
He is not getting any better at it. He just isnt.
Sometimes you just are what you are.

I forget how young he is. Im not giving up on him as a player but I am as a playmaker.

I forget how young he is. Im not giving up on him as a player but I am as a playmaker.

He's 20 in his second year with us.

Agree fully that his confidence to realization ratio is far off.

Also that though he has improved 3s and FTs efficiency, his O is vastly underdeveloped.

But we drafted him knowing that.

His calling card is his D and as to that he's been tasked often with guarding opponent's best players. He can and has guarded starting opponents 1 through 4 so the versatility is there - when he's mentally plugged in.

A lot of roles this season have been just beyond his reach. IF he works on his game and mental approach he is valuable as a versatile D first guy and whatever O we get will be a bonus.

IF he happens to flourish there it will be a nice surprise. But he's had every opportunity this season to showcase his game. Can't ever say otherwise. From now on, it's fight for your position and justify it.

Wemby wants better. We will be better. If it's with internal improvement, fine. If it's with roster changes, fine.
