Sonics and Spurs trade

Post#1 » by wiff » Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:20 pm

This isn't my trade, asdf1223 at the Sonics board posted it but I thinks it's reasonable and wanted to know what you thought.

Kurt Thomas
2 2008 seconds(our own,best of the other 3)

San Antonio sends:
Brent Barry
Fransisco Elson
draft rights to Splitter

I would think Thomas would really help you with another run to the finals.

I wouldn't mind Thomas, but I wouldn't trade Splitter..

I wouldn't trade Splitter at all... Thomas would just be a rental for several months and I don't think he is really needed. We need Barry to spread the floor more than Thomas and his post D and rebounding. He is also our defacto 3rd string point guard. I don't trust anyone else besides Parker,Jacque and Barry for ball handling.

I would pass on your trade request... I am think you should ask for a Thomas for KBrown and a 1st round pick. It just makes too much sense.

No way, Splitter is by far the most valuable of the things listed.

It's waaay too early to be mentioninig Splitter in trades.

Wait 3 or 4 years after we still haven't managed to bring Splitter over, then we'll give him to you for a cool million.

I wouldn't think of trading Splitter unless I got a hell of a lot more than Thomas. I like Thomas and think he would be valuable to us this year but the future with him is limited. Pass.

I was kind of feeling it until I saw Splitter's name thrown in there. No way in hell I'm giving up Splitter. That kid is going to be huge for us for the next couple years.

Throw in a pick instead. There's no way the Spurs win anything with the roster they have now. Keep Splitter. He is a stud, but San An. will have to make a minimum of two trades if they want to compete with everyone else in the West. It's slowly looking like the Spurs had their window of opportunity.
