Spurs at Raptors 2/11/08

Post#1 » by Ballings7 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 3:58 pm

Both team's on 2nd of BTB

Toronto's a very decent team and capable, but after the loss yesterday, can't quite sway to the Raptors winning.

6-point win for us

yea we should come into this game motivated and hungry to win. im expecting a double digit victory with duncan taking bosh to school and manu breaking down the non existence defense ofthe raptors.

the Raptors are difficult to judge..they are the best shooting team in the NBA, so it all depends on whether they can get hot..so our D is going to have to be solid for a win..

Duncan should be getting the ball a lot tonight, instead of the 100 Ginobili turnovers..Rasho might know some of Duncan's moves, but we've had our best success playing off Timmy(obviously, since he's our man)..

we need to play D, that's the #1 part here..if we can win vs. Toronto and Cleveland, which we should, that would give us a 6-3 trip, which would be great..especially considering the 3 losses have been down to the wire(Seattle is the most embarrassing loss of the season though)..

Rasho's gonna put up 40 and 23rbs. Book it.

In other predictions, Spurs by 3.

You are right... they are an odd team. They have great guard play with Calderon. Bosh is a legit 20/10 guy but they need something out of Barney to be legit power in the east. He is the outside PF version of Eddy Curry.

I think for us to win we have to really nail down Calderon. We didn't last time and they got the W.

well, they did kick our ass last month, even on a b2b game like this, I'm sure the Spurs will want some revenge.

Well, got kinda hairy there in the 4th - but in the end a decent win

Solid rebound game from the Boston loss.

Manu was just absolutely great - 34 pts, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, a joy to watch

Finley was solid, hit some big baskets in the 4th qtr

JV was steady and very effective, and, he's either worked on his driving game or is a better slasher than I thought before. Impressive, and been consistent with this on the season, especially lately.

Tim was good on both ends of the floor, had a few great defensive plays tonight

Nice effort by Toronto

Manu was beastly....

It was nice to get a quality W vs a good team in my estimation.

I like Oberto, and I think he should remain as a backup C..he's always useful against perimeter big men like Bosh, and he's creative..we still need another big though..

Elson should never see the floor again..he looks for a shot every time he touches the ball..he's absolute ass..

what the **** happened to Damon? he started off shooting well in the 1st 2 games, and now he's been mediocre..he can't play if he can't shoot, because he's our worst defender..

If Elson's not going to play like he was before the injury (including last season), and in lesser time from earlier in the season, then there probably needs to be a change. Getting limited to no time doesn't help Elson's rhythm, but, still someone else would probably be better, overall. If it's available, do it.

He is a shooter, and an older player. I was actually a little surprised how well he did the first couple games. But his shot will be back, and has taken it to the rim successfully at times.

this is the way the Spurs need to start out games, they got a bit cold in the 2nd half but still pulled it out.

Quality win for us on a B2B. Manu was Jordanesque, just clutch as all hell. TD played a nice game and most iomportantly we showed some energy especially in rebounding and boxing out, i bet Pop ripped them a new one after the Boston game and it clearly showed.

As for Damon i'm not too worried, like Finley and Barry he'll have his off games and on games, it's just something we have to expect from him.

Man i can't wait for Tony to get back. It's increasingly evident how badly we miss him.

I agree with you on this one. Our offense does seem a bit more stagnant without him. His attacking of the basket is REAALLLY missed. I kind of overlooked that and took it for granted when we had him out there. Hopefully he comes back fully healed and can return to his attacking form. He was also killer on fast breaks. I also do miss Barry a bit. He was part of the reason why our 3 point shooting was as good as it was. The guy can flat out shoot. He definitely helped in spreading the floor. I think we'll see a good run with those guys back.

we definitely need Parker badly..Ginobili can't be the prinary perimeter option..it's good when he's hot, but it's evident how much we need TP when Manu is just average or having a bad game..

It's our Fast break we need help on, Parker was a one man fast break. Vaughn is god awful at running any kind of run and gun style and even in offense he tends to over dribble into nothing and runs down too much clock which drives me insane. Damon is till learning the Spurs system but he's old and doesn't have the legs he used to have, so we basically have no outlet for a fast break. Against Boston i don't think we scored a single fast break point. That's just insane.
