OT: Russell Westbrook

Do Supersonics fans support/like Westbrook despite never playing for Seattle but being drafted by them? As a Thunder fan, I assume that some of you guys might still follow him but on the other hand he never played for Seattle.

Honestly, no.

I can't support that franchise. That goes for the players as well. If he went to another team, that could change. I fully support KD & the Warriors now and was thrilled he left OKC behind. I know you don't want to hear that but its the honest truth. I don't know anyone from Seattle, that actively cheers for the franchise. Most of us are still bitter about the departure. It's still hard for me to watch Thunder games.

That's understandable to hate the organization and be thrilled KD left. I would be torn if the Thunder were to leave Oklahoma City since it's my hometown team. It'll be hard for me to support the Thunder to wherever they move.

Some of us are still holding out hope for expansion in the not too distant future. Before the move most fans wanted OKC to get a team, just not ours! The league should have given you guys an expansion team back then.

I think you guys will be getting a franchise soon. I hate that there's animosity toward OKC, but I understand it, and hope Seattle gets a team really soon. I also think from some reports around that they will.

i HAVE TO IMAGINE, AT THIS POINT, Westbrook is like a step-child to the Seattle BBall community.

He has no direct ties to your team or city, but he's still technically a part of the family.

(Though he won't appear in anyone's family tree.)

A shame Wiffler and Eddie's Guitar never piped-in on the original question.

Now they're probably back in Presti-Genius mode and the next 5 titles he'll be bringing to the Blunder.

Why should they?

There is no compelling reason for Seattle SuperSonics fans to support Russell Westbrook, in the context of a kindred spirit. He never played for the SuperSonics. The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted him when the team moved to Oklahoma City.

Serge Ibaka should get some love too then.
