Indiana gaining steam in this series. Knicks players running out of gas and getting injured.

Will be a toss up from here.

I don't know if the Knicks can be at this stage if they didn't make the trade.

while I still think that the siakam trade return was underwhelming, I'm glad the FO did the moves they did even if there were a bit late.

Yet, the Pacers and Knicks believe they got the steal, both are top in +/- on their respective teams.
I don't think neither teams go this far without the trades. And the problem is more with the Raptors than these players (including Achiuwa).

Prob not - but who cares when OG is not available when it matters.

He will come back and get hurt again. Just inevitable.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

OG injured and Siakam barely moving the needle in a playoff series against a team with 2 missing starter, what else is new?

on the paper they are better. they're both win now teams but the pacers are about to be eliminated against an injury depleted knicks and well, OG is injured. even if they get through this series, they'll be decimated against the celtics.

One doesn't bring you much defensive intensity and the other is always injured come playoffs. Nothing has changed under the Sun. Cheering for NY, because Brunson is a just a great basketball player who refuses to lose. He was cast in Kyle Lowry's mold and improved upon.

OG has been injured a lot, yes. But it's incorrect to say he "always injured come playoffs. " He had appendicitis to miss the 2019 playoffs. Otherwise he's never missed a playoff game until the last 3 Pacers games. He played all 10 playoff games in 2018, all 10 in 2020, all 6 in 2022, the lone play-in in 2023, and 8 playoff games this year until he pulled the hamstring.

Masai completely mishandled these two. Lost them for far less than they could have gotten. Didn't need to lose them at all tbh.

This is your takeaway from this match up? OG is hurt and Siakam is not playing like a max player. OG trade was an amazing deal for us and even if we did not get enough for Siakam this is much better than losing them in the off season for nothing.

Don't forget the elbow injury. That will need surgery or something in the offseason.

You were only facing losing them for nothing because of how badly Masai mishandled the situation.

i wouldn't call the OG trade nothing. I am not "IQ is the next Maxey" crowd but he's still the 6th man of the year candidate the year prior. When you factor in RJ's production after he arrived in toronto the trade isnt bad considering the situation. At the very least we got 2 decent impact player for the price of an elite impact player at his best.
Siakam trade was a travesty that it got to the point where we have to dump him for Bruce brown and a 3 late first round picks. Pacers juiced Masai like a lemon.

I was only responding to the playoffs part, the incorrect claim he's always hurt in the playoffs.

But he already had elbow surgery in the season.
