I've been on board the Edey Lotto train for a while. Instead of drafting a high likelihood role player, might as well swing for the fences and see if Edey is the guy to buck the trend. If that dominance from college translates over at all to the pros, the upside is pretty tremendous. I would happily take him at 19 if he falls that far. I see him as the ultimate boom or bust player this draft.

Not saying he's unathletic, just that he's not the highest jumper at the combine. Reed's standing reach was shorter than Rob Dillingham's despite being a taller and having a longer wingspan.

How is that possible? Taller, longer wingspan but shorter standing reach, it’s not computing for me.

wider body/shoulders? longer neck  ?

Is Castle really 6'2.25"?

Or is it a mistake?

Poeltl form was actually better before he was drafted then it is now. Poeltl shoots like someone who broke his wrist and has pins in it now, but as far as I know he has never broke his wrist. Not sure what happened with that.

Yeah, I remember seeing this before and thinking his jumper had potential. Hard to say why it never developed, he has such soft touch around the basket but for whatever reason shoots a shot put at the FT line.

Brother Yakub shoots the shot put when he's right at the bucket. It's a madness.

Yves Missi
Zach Edey
Tyler Smith
DaRon Holmes
Kyle Filipowski

Wings I like:
Tristan Da Silva
Ryan Dunn
Dillon Jones
Bobi Klintman

Guards I like:
Jaylon Tyson
Carlton Carrington
Devin Carter
Jared McCain
Hunter Sallis
Tyler Kolek

I think we come out with a big and a guard and fill out the wing position through FA or trade.

Big and guard definitely the priority, we have a glut of wings already.

This kid's fundamentals are all there. It's just that fundaments don't seem to be sexy. Plus, he's 20 or 21, played 4 seasons in college which makes him less of a sexy pick.

Purely watching him hoop, this kid has put on display everything that any given NBA team would benefit from.

I'd put guard first, then big, then wing.

San Antonio is going to draft Edey with our pick and play him beside Wemby while turning him into a star

I feel like that 2nd Round pick is going to become very desirable. The new format has the draft happening over two days. So every team will have one-full-sleep to think about who didn't get drafted. The 2nd round is the perfect place for teams that love a player but are scared of making a 4-year commitment. If teams see guys they love not get picked in the 1st round, they will be calling Masai and Bobby asking what it will take to get Pick #31. If M&B play their cards correctly, they could create a bidding war amongst teams that have players on their draft boards that they want, but can't get a read on how much longer they will be available. Only way they can guarantee that their desired guy will be theirs will be to step up and pay.

All of which is to say - it would not shock me if TOR only uses Pick #19 and "sells" Pick #31 to the highest bidder.

It happens every combine. Players don't fully extend when measuring their standing reach so that their vertical looks more impressive

I low-key think we could do Gary Trent S&T for the Det 5th pick straight up. From the last BS podcast it doesn't sound like the 1st pick would even get Derrick White without more things included

We've got some smaller wings, but don't really have any big wings anymore though, aside from Scottie (and I'm not really sure he's a wing). And if Brown and Trent leave, we've really got no one except RJ, Gradey, and Ochai. Da Silva would definitely fit a need, as he came in at a legit 6-8 and can shoot.

Yeah let's just pretend that the Raptors didn't have NINE possible picks they could've landed at: 1-4, 6, or conveying 7-10.

Yeah, with Wemby's mobility as a help defender, it's totally do-able.

It would be a pretty scary duo. Constant matchup problems for opponents.
