If by the trade deadline, Calderon is traded for an expiring, then do it. If he's traded for a contract expiring next year, like Barbosa, DON'T do it.
But, if he doesnt get traded... trade him
So, well have like 13 expiring contracts one year
Then assuming we get an equal contract for Calderon, about 16m the next year.

Ugh, can we please give it up about this guy? He's not what we need for the present nor the future.

I'm sure Carlesimo would love a choker on the team.

Fantasize all you want, Colangelo would never trade for or sign a guy like J.R. Smith. Whether you appreciate it or not, the man has a value system that he sticks to.

Apparently you're that 'kinda guy' as well barrist... you go about life making sarcastic jabs and scoffing at opinions, and when you actually do offer your own opinion it's so censored people think it's just another sarcastic comment... I'd think this is because you care so much about the way you look to other people you're not willing to say what you really think. Maybe you used to be made fun of in the past, so you defend yourself by being this way?

Would love to see JR Smith in a raps uni. We need scoring from our guard positions, and hes a pure scorer.

Doesn't help our defense much though....I guess that's coming??

If the fact that teams want to jettison this guy asap (Hornets and now* Nuggets) isn't an indication that he's be a terrible fit wherever he goes then I don't know what is. We get the same skillset from Barbosa to a lesser extent anyways. Why employ a headcase that doesn't add anything different to the roster yet doesn't hold good value?

The guy we should be trying to get from the Nuggets is Billups.

You seem to have forgotten the fact that

A: We're in no situation to take a 'flyer' on a guy who surely won't be a starting caliber player down the road (which I'm sure BC will be trying to look out for) and yet will demand a ton of money after his contract is over

B: We've got enough problems in the locker room as it is... and I'm even gonna go on to say that I think this whole 'young gunz' thing is actually a negative in bringing the team together as a whole.

^ there was a lack of camaraderie and heart last year... and then the european/american split.... we may not have guys known for having a bad attitude, but we also don't have an established, veteran locker room that could handle someone like jr smith

It makes sense if you want him to choke the living sh*t out of Bargnani halfway into the third game of the season, thereby causing us to lose our best player for a one month stretch as he recovers from the resulting sinus infection caused by trauma from Smith's experienced technique.

You say that as if it would matter. If Chauncey and George Karl can't handle JR, with vet guys like Kmart on that team...um...who else in the league you think can handle him? Kobe and Phil? KG and Doc? LOL...there's like 3 POSSIBILITIES and I stress...possibilities.
