Yup. When our team weakness was rebounding, as it had been for years, he took Tucker instead of Millsap who had led the NCAA in rebounding for three straight years.
Lots of folks passed on Millsap. I don't remember that far back but getting picked 47th must have its reasons. Did he have a bad workout?
I think he was considered a tweener, like Draymond.

people still dont look at the nuances and subtle differences within the flow of the game... yes, technically ibaka is shooting a higher percentage than terrence ross... hes also shooting a lower volume... and hes also not the same TYPE of shooter that ross is... ibaka will benefit from getting wide open looks in the flow of the offense... unfortunately, OUR OFFENSE DOESNT GET A LOT OF THESE LOOKS. we have guys that like to pound the rock and waste shot clock and hunt their own shot down... terrence ross (and the guy i advocated for in nick young) are catch and shoot guys with no conscience... they need little room, you can run them off screens to get catch and shoot 3s, and they only need an inch of room to get their shot off... they dont need to be wide open and they can bail you out last minute if the offense gets stagnant. ibaka is not that guy. he can shoot 3s, yes, and if we were a great ball movement team, with great court vision and had a versatile offense that was precise and can pick you apart, then id agree, ibaka is a great fit no questions asked. but thats not our identity offensively. if were looking to add a 3 point shooter, were looking for a guy that fits in, in spite of our identity; which is blue collar, dribble drive, attack, pass out last minute ONLY IF THERES NO OTHER OPTION. we need those "no other option" shooters on our team, which is not who tucker or ibaka are.
Its the same thing with Carroll.
I still believe Carroll is a very solid player, great glue type of guy that a great team needs.....problem from day 1 was Carroll came from great team basketball in Atlanta to our ball hogging Iso ball, your shot , then my shot, then my shot, then your shot, then my shot, then one of the other 3 guys shot, then your shot basketball.
