Nice drive by Barnes there. Looks more comfortable handling the ball. Good 'D also on the defensive end.

I suspected that was the game you were linking to. Sadly I watched most of it, because it had at large omplications.

It wasn't an efficient night, he had an off game but did a good job on the glass too.

No matter what our first round pick is, I feel like with our second rounder we just pick whatever SG has the highest FG% in college. Bound to work!

idk about highest FG%...but what about a guy like William Buford? Will he make it to the 1st round? If not, then he could be a guy we can go to. Even though he's a senior this year...but his all around ability is quite intriguing. But I said it before, I wish Aaron Craft declares this year and if we can get him in 2nd round, that would be sweet! :D

I really hope we can FOR ONCE draft a useful player in the second round: Jerekbo, Meeks, Blair, Thornton, Fields, Dragic, Asik etc etc. That 30-35 range always seems to have some great role players if you can draft well.

This board's infatuation with Barnes is just.... weird. He can't do anything except shoot. He's like the small forward version of Bargs except he cant shoot as well.

Why do you want him?

I think I'd much rather have Lamb over Barnes. Lamb has some things that stand out at his position like athleticism and that god damn arm length.

We are going to see what these guys can do in the pre-draft workouts. Hopefully they don't wimp out and only do individual drills, but even then you can see some ballhandling if you work in some game-type pylon drills and have a coach (Alvin) put some token pressure on him.

We know we need a guy with 1 on 1 skills. Is that Lamb or Barnes or both.

You also see some real improvement in these guys once they go through their draft preparation. Guys like Tim Grover work them harder than they ever have before and certain skills show big improvement under intense training like that.

For 2nd round picks Meeks was a guy I was going to mention as well. That type of scorer from college who has the instincts and skills of a scorer and is a low risk high reward type pick.

Yeah, right now I prefer Lamb to Barnes too. I don't hate Barnes as a prospect and could pretty easily talk myself into him if we were to draft him, but I'm more confident in Lamb's ability to be a scorer at the next level and at this point, I'm not sure what else Barnes does that well. (Games like last night's, where he was completely invisible, don't help).

For that 2nd round pick: Kevin Jones.

Steely Reserve seems to be so infatuated with Perry Jones that every other prospect in the draft isn't worth getting excited over.

I'd like to move up into the late first and grab Jeff Taylor or Doron Lamb. If we're going to stay in the 2nd then draft and stash Satoransky.

I don't hate Barnes as a prospect and short of us getting a top two pick, I'd consider him my #2 guy in this draft. However I just feel as though Lamb's numbers would be substantially better if he were on North Carolina, who play at a faster pace. More importantly he wouldn't be playing on a scrubtastic lineup. HB is nothing to sneeze at and has made some strides this season, but my #1 guy so far this ncaa season is Lamb.

The game just comes to easy for him, (full disclosure) he hasn't played a lick of good defense but he has the ability and we have the coaching staff to correct such trivial matters.

Appreciating his length, are we sure that MKG is tall enough to guard bigger 3s like LeBron, Melo, Durant, Gay, Gallo? He looks to be south of 6'6. Is he a top-5 pick if he can't? I also wonder about his half court offense.
