Because 2024 is a bad draft, I'd rather give up the (#7-8) pick this year, extend Scottie next summer and be in position to tank the hell out of next season.

But it's a dangerous game, depending on the return for OG and Siakam at the trade deadline. A couple of late firsts for both of them - even if offered - isn't too enticing. I'd prefer to at least keep OG past the deadline, and see how things work without Pascal. But if we continue to suck without immediate hope of improvement, OG could very well walk in free agency.

Or we can tank this and next year. Not worth it do waste another year, in fact we could just end up giving the spurs no first round pick if they still suck in 2026.

The plan has been stay mediocre and try to grow from within. Masai has made exactly 1 big trade since he's been here, and it was an absolute steal for us. Ill believe he's capable of trading OG or Siakam when i see it.

I’d rather keep this year’s pick and convey next year. My hope is next year Scottie will take another leap and we’re ready to make a push to be a young rising team and reach the playoffs as a lower seed.

I don’t wanna finish with the #7 pick and lose it this year just to get the #10 pick next year

I’d much rather get #6 and add a piece next to Scottie (and whatever we get in return from a Pascal trade) and convey a 15 pick next year

My ideal situation is we tank both years. Add two studs (hopefully one if not both are blue chip) and then in Scottie’s last couple years we put a winning product around him with these two as part of the core. So when he becomes a ufa he stays.

We should have started this process two years ago like most sane teams would have but this is the situation we’re in.

The easiest way out of this predicament is just to trade Siakam for a 24 1st. Tanking won't have a direct correlation to the pick but it will atleast give the losing somewhat of a direction.

The raptors currently have 3 of the 25 best players in the eastern conference on our team, Scottie arguably a top 10. If Masai wanted to tank he wouldn't have traded the pick to begin with. Tanking in this fashion just doesn't make any sense. Were going to tank and convey a Shaedon Sharpe level prospect to the spurs for Jakob Poetl, please no.
