D Smith: Bosh for Lee, Gallo (Update pg 9)

Post#1 » by freakoutguy » Thu Apr 15, 2010 3:12 pm

Here’s a kind of verbatim conversation I had with a fellow before last night’s game. Him first.
“What about Bosh?”

“I think he’s gone but six week ago I thought he was staying so who knows.”
“Sign-and-trade?" “That’s what they want.”
“David Lee?”

“Sure, and something really good with him. That seems to be what the people want.”
“Makes sense.”

“Tell me about Lee.”
“If you put him out there with Bargnani and Turkoglu it might be the worst defensive front court in the history of basketball. But he’s a good guy.”

“Hmm. That might be enough.”

Did anyone notice Lee giving Bargs a friendly punch on his chest after Bargs was fouled hard yesterday, which looked positively chummy? Portent of things to come, given rumors of Bosh's NY based girl-friend?

One thing that you can be sure that BC and Maurizio will do their damnest to get Gallinari along with Lee.Thats who the "Something really good with him" refers to Gallo

UPDATE : New Article in the Star suggesting Bosh and Lee sign and Trade.Looks like there is some smoke to this fire.

Toronto’s late-season collapse has him asking for help from a franchise that has trouble getting it from anywhere but Europe. Thus, he’s considered the most likely big-ticket free agent to leave.

WHY HE’D COME: The Knicks’ two-max-contract salary-cap room means he could play the sidekick role for which he’s better suited, with a sign-and-trade involving David Lee considered possible.

A treadmill performer and a Guido for Bosh? Sure, sounds good.

This fellow was probably one of NY's brilliant reporters.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

If the conversation begins with someone asking Doug's opinion, it can't have been with anyone important.

So Lee and Gallinari then? I think we could do worse and probably better.

As for the Lee and Bargs things, I saw that but I highly doubt that had anything to do with some wink-wink agreement between th two teams, I am sure if Lee is coming here he doesn't know it yet.

If that trade goes down I'm taking a one year hiatus from the raps.

If you thought our defense was bad this year. Imagine how many point we'll give up with Lee and Bargnani in the front court. Here's a clue, it's a number higher than 150.

At least with Lee we'll all be too busy criticizing his atrocious D so Bargs will go unscathed.

I have been thinking the same sort of thing. If NY can somehow lure a JJ or Wade or LBJ then I think they would be more than willing to take on Turks long term salary to get Bosh. We take back Curry who many even play great in a contract year and try to trade his expiring during the year.

May be our best option to move Turk.

I don't care if its the only trade available I wouldn't take Lee.
Imagine Lee, Bargs, Jose and Hedo all at 9 million + a year?

point is Lee and Bosh are the same age, Gallo is a hell of a lot younger than Turk and better defensively. So i dont see how youd be THAT bad.

Jack/Calderon/Banks
Derozan/Henry (#12)/Belinelli
Gallo/Weems
Lee/Evans
Bargnani/Johnson/Curry

thats a good young rebuilding team. Add a top pick in 2011 hopefully (Knight?) and you have a very solid team.

Another thing. Boshs girlfriend works for the Knicks management so that could be a factor in him going there and im sure he wont care if Gallo is there or not.

+1

He gets pushed around for the same reasons Bosh used to get pushed around, he is undersized for the centre position, not that that will change here but it's true.

I am cuirous though, If Bosh wants to go to NY, it's gotta be more than just a girl, LeBron must be headed there too, I don't see Bosh going there if they don't have a great plan for this summer.

Our current team is a little too "dark" for my liking. I want this to happen so we can trot out my preferred "White is Right" lineup:

PG- Jose
SG- Beli
SF- Turk
PF- Lee
C- Bargs
6th- Gallo

Sonny Amir DD Jack and Evans are expendable IMO and don't belong on the court. They all jump a little too high and run a little too fast to be able to fit in with my preferred team.

What the hells the point of this. "Fellow" ? That could some random drunk guy he met in the bathroom. What kind of ass-turd writing is this?
