Raptors RealGM Mock Draft: The Grizzlies select...

Post#1 » by vini_vidi_vici » Sun May 30, 2010 12:52 am

Next on the clock is the Memphis Grizzlies. Did you know that they dont have one player signed (not including team options/qualifying offers) in 2011-12? So really they could theoretically take anyone here. Do they try to replace Rudy? I think they do. Ill take Luke Babbitt, because rumors are Memphis loves him and they need a legit SF, and as Chad Ford points out he wont be there at 25.

Roster: Zach Randolph (F-C), Marc Gasol (C), Hasheem Thabeet (C), OJ Mayo (G), Mike Conley (G), Hamed Haddidi (C), Darrell Arthur (F), Demarre Carroll (F), Sam Young (F).

Mock Draft Projections
Paul George - NBADraft.net

Donatas Montiejunas - DraftExpress.com

Luke Babbitt - ESPN.com

(not updated!) Donatas Montiejunas - HoopDoctors
Like any international player, Donatas es a bit of a mystery, but what little is known is that he is an extremely quick power forward who relies on finesse rather than strength. Motiejunas is a very skilled offensive player with imposing height that could be a match-up nightmare in the Dirk Nowitzki mold in a best case scenario, hence his high ranking. Has impressive range on his jumper out to the 3 pt arc but is very limited in lateral movement, and consequentially at this point, is a defensive liability. Comparison: Andrea Bargnani

Eric Bledsoe makes good sense for them. He could even take over the starting PG spot in a few years.

I know most people are going to pick Hassan Whiteside basically because of the fact that he has upside and does everything the Raptors need which is defense and rebounding.
Want: Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr., DeAndre Ayton, Jaren Jackson Jr, Marvin Bagley III, Mohamad Bamba, Shai Gilgeous- Alexander, Elie Okobo, Jevon Carter

I'm down with one either Orton or Whiteside. If we're going on bpa i go with Xavier Henry. Bad for our wing situation, but he is gonna be good.

Wild Card = Avery Bradley

It seems Memphis really likes Henry. With Gay likely bolting for a huge contract, they take Henry who'd fit well at the 3. He provides outside scoring and doesn't need the ball as much to be effective. This let's Mayo step up more, and Zbo to get more touches in the post.

Grizz select Beldsoe based on rumours I hear out of Memphis. They seem stacked with bigs.

Return to Toronto Raptors
