Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 6

Post#1 » by Rhettmatic » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:27 pm

As March Madness rages, we have our sixth NBA draft discussion thread. You guys were hungry last time.

Here are the other five threads:

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1056803
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1087333
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1093590
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1100716
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1102395

And the rules:

All thoughts on 2011 draft prospects and potential Raptors picks can go in this thread. After the draft lottery, it'll also be home to all mock-draft discussion and other fun.

Did Kyrie Irving have a sick crossover? Post it here. Did Jan Vesely drop 27 points on Crvena zvezda? Discuss it here. Are you having panic attacks because the Raptors just hired Donatas Motiejunas's father as their head scout? Seek medical help here.

We've got a few links here to NBA draft websites but please feel free to post more or PM a mod if you want more added.

Enjoy!

Do you think Demar or Ed will declare for the draft?
I really hope we don't lose them.

I am rather hoping Bargnani doesn't declare so we can draft Aldridge.

with the amount that some of these ncaa teams are paying college athletes, I don't know if a small market team like the raptors can keep up.

I feel like Cartman in the Wii episode - not to objectify these fine, beautiful bodies.

I'm driving the Brandon Knight train. All Aboard!!

But anyways I really believe in him for some reason. Many forgot about him earlier in the season. It was all Tjones. I dunno. It just says a lot about who he is.

I wonder if we can make a deal for cousins if we end up with a higher pick than SAC.

I love Cousins as a talent. But I'm not sure we're the team that should develop him. But man he's a beast sometimes. But others he just cruises. Kinda like Demar to be honest.

Hopefully we win the lottery, lock this thread and open a Welcome Kyrie thread only to be surprised by the Donut pick later

I still prefer we draft Kanter and trade him to Philly or Denver for E.Turner or Galinari..I think either Turner or Galinari has more potential than any SFs prospects this year..

Having Turner means we can bring Jose off the bench and start one of Bayless or Barbosa at PG and let them do what they the best which is scoring

PG:Bayless or Barbosa/Calderon
SG:Derozan/Bayless or Barbosa
SF:Turner/Johnson
PF:E.Davis/A.Johnson
C:Bargnani/R.Evans

Or
Calderon
Derozan
Galinari
Davis
Bargnani

or IF we can move Bargs/Bayless to Sac in some kinda deal(sign and trade including Dalembert) while getting their first round draft pick and draft Knight I couldnt be happier..I still really really like to see how Bargs will play as PF before we move him though..

PG:Knight/Calderon
SG:Derozan/Barbosa
SF:Turner or Galinari/Johnson
PF:E.Davis/Klieza
C:Dalembert/A.Johnson

The Cavs could have an interesting draft. There's a good chance that Irving and Kemba/Knight are the best picks available when they draft. Hopefully they'll be interested in trading down if they do land the top pick. Or maybe their other pick will even be made available.

In order for cousins to stop being a wacko he needs a smart, well-being and a role-model type of mentor as his guidance. Unfortunately, if he comes to the raps, we don't have any one to mentor him as u already know, everyone on our team are not good role models.

He'll get some msg by being traded in his 1st yr after being selected top 6. He'll know that he has to mature. I still want him to play like how he plays, just be mature about things. He's the type of talent that makes building a team so much easier...

Why do threads get locked once they reach 100 pages?

The one thing I really like about Demarcus is his passing ability. Great rebounder too. Another knock I have on him is he tries to do too much on offence sometimes. But again, Its just a learning curve.
