Yes. Toronto is a dump. Only way to get players is to overpay scrubs.

I lived on the Gold Coast for 10 years, moved back to Toronto 2 years ago.

Toronto is a great city, not sure why we don't attract more FA's to be honest.

Oh, also, Toronto women > Gold Coast woman, just thought I'd throw that in

I dont know if the players are just saying politically correct things when they are asked. But when the big time players are asked about Toronto they claim they love it, the city, the nightlife, the women, they love coming here to play. When they are here they try to stay here as long as they can before the next stop on their roadtrip... I can go on. I think if you live in any fun party city, its a great place to be. I think players not wanting to play in toronto has probably nothing to do with the city itself, but from cultural differences like Taxes, and the Metric System and simply not being in America and having some American things like ESPN. This really shouldnt be a big deal to anyone but apparently it is for some people who dont want to move "North of the Border". It doesent seem to effect any kind of Euroleague signing though, I dont think they care about all that, as long as its fun and nice to live here.

And finally the one big reason why I think they dont want to move North is simply... the team sucks and nobody talks about us south of border. If the team was good, they will want to come. If someone like Nash signs, it will create a buzz south of the border and they will want to come. This is why a Nash signing is very important to this team moving forward. If people are talking about the Raptors without adding "are a joke" to the end, then its worth it. The Raptors dont have the buzz or the team to be attractive to FAs right now. This makes them very wary to come over, they dont want to be forgotten in a land where they cant win. A Nash signing can help eliminate these two stigmas in one shot, and if the team starts rising and everyone is talking about a Nash-led Raptors team, then you will see good FA's seriously considering the Raptors as a good place to play.

I think its mostly taxes and media attention.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Not this again. It's not the taxes.

It's been posted about fifty times. I'm not going into detail this time but the Canadian entertainer tax law exemption plus the agreement between Canada and the US means the players pay the same taxes as they would in the US. They don't pay the same as an ordinary citizen.

Toronto is like an Australian city, but about 30 degrees colder.

Toronto has more culture (and better bands), Sydney has more girls in bikinis and better surf. :D

TO is a world class city and the only reason we struggle to attract talent is because we suck. Plain and simple. Anyone who says otherwise is naive and over complicating the facts. Once we start winning the players will want to be here. Why we suck is a different matter, much of which is due to bad management over the years.
