We had the 8th pick this year while trying to tank with Bargs out over half the season, Butler, Alan Anderson, and Ben Uzoh getting significant minutes, and a hobbled Amir all season without our 5th overall pick playing. WIth the addition of Lowry, Ross, and Val how are we going to be worse?

Simple... the other bad teams will improve more than we do.

For one, let's not overexaggerate the role of Butler and Uzoh (both averaged only 13 minutes per game and played, respectively, 34 and 16 games). Anderson only played 17 games.

Val is going to be a dominant C in the future but for the next two years he won't make waves because he'll be in foul trouble and not strong enough to handle other Cs. Lowry and Ross will contribute but I still doubt that we will win more % of games next year.

The great thing about Lowry is he can defend the PG spot. That will do wonders for out team, i also think hes a better passer then Calderon even though Calderon had more apg. Calderon has the ball too much as oppose to Lowry who will either score, pass and not just dribble the ball for 10 seconds. Lowry will be a breath of fresh air for our Offense.

People can hate on BC all they want but im seeing some light at the end of the tunnel for the raptors. I just hope Bargs is the next to be traded if he doesnt play good all year.

Oh my god, I haven't been this excited for a press conference since JO got traded to Toronto. Hence JO is probably one of the best speakers in the league.

+1 Lowry is a better flashy passer, he creates as opposed to '' wait 15 seconds for players to get open and then pass ''

Jose Calderon better be gone now that we have a true PG that can defend, rebound and make everyone better.

They may both have red jerseys but the Raptors Red suits Lowry better than the Rockets Red ;)

Shedding some positivity, I think Lowry (who I am happy about anyways) will be amazing for this team and can make an All-Star team once or twice if he works hard. Fields, I think he can grow to be our 6th man. Which is not bad value at all if he can manage it.

Best pick up in a long time.

I dont think any of us will be surprised. We all know Lowry is a great player and could likely end up being our best player this upcoming season.

Yeah, for all the talk ... and talk ... and talk about Dragic on this board, Lowry had significantly better stats (when healthy). Hopefully, he's fully recovered.

I am excited about the Lowry acquisition, Fields not so much. How many times last year the Raptors were in games until the end and barely lost? Raptors lacked a good closer, Lowry could at least help the Raptors close out games with either a big shot, or good decisions with the ball.

My only concern with Lowry is the way he throws his body around, we can expect injuries. Hopefully he picks his spots better as there are scorers on this team.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Jersey looks ugly on them. Wait, the jersey itself is ugly overall.

I'm in school for journalism and I can tell you right now that there is no way in hell i'd ask a question like that

Sometimes i think they have a list of questions they can ask and nothing else because the questions are so stupid. I could came up with much better questions then all of them.

1. Landry Fields is it true you tweaked you're shooting mechanics last year and thats why you struggled?
2. Kyle Lowry, what kind of defensive impact do you think you will have on this team?
3. Kyle Lowry do you want to be the leader of this team?
4. Landry Fields would you mind coming off the bench eventually as more of a 6th man or do you expect to start?
5. Kyle Lowry do you see this more as a short term solution or do you think you can see yourself here for more then 2 years?

I just thought of these questions off the top of my head, im assuming our journalists had time to come up with good questions. :-?

NBA rules...
That contract (5 +5 +9) would be valid only if the Knicks had matched the offer.

Same holds for the Lin situation.

Correct. Houston is doing the same thing with Jeremy Lin. It's called the Gilbert Arenas rule.
