That guy is ridiculous, how are you a professional athlete and be that much overweight? I'm even more surprised that New York is THAT desperate for a point guard to have traded for him...oh well

You know you're in trouble when JR Smith is the team's best backcourt player right now.

As a Knicks fan the Linsanity thing was really fun and I'm a fan of Lin's forever but the 3rd year pays him $15mill+ which is more than Tyson Chandler.

Felton is actually a good PG, he really needs to get in better shape but he can still ball.

It's like Boris Diaw, the guy completely let his weight go but he can still ball and just got a multiyear deal with the Spurs.

He was absolutely exposed in that game, and if he played in the playoffs it would have been the exact same thing.

Houston will have fun with the 3rd year of Lin's contract.

Saciid11 wrote:Believe it or not Knicks actually improved at the point guard position this offseason... call him fat, lazy, whatever you want Felton is more proven and capable starter then Lin who is right now one of the most overpayed players in the league. People forget Felton put up 18ppg 9 assist just two season ago with the Knicks...

He was also 50 pounds lighter and 2 years younger.

Historically, a small guard like Felton doesn't age very well. Felton relies on his quickness, and once that's gone, they have nothing left. And with the amount of fat he is carrying around, good luck to him...

Someone posted videos of Felton bloopers from last year on the NY board. Hilarious as they are, it's quite obvious the weight is hindering him, in terms of explosiveness and body control.

He's always been sort of stocky, but this is too much. Actually, when you think about it.... How the hell is he a quick point guard? He's pudgy, but he's always had great speed. In college he was the fastest point in the country and he wasn't exactly ripped or slim then. Just an odd athlete.

Well, Baron was fat for years and never seemed to lose speed. However, he was injured a lot. Being out of shape can cause injuries even if you don't lose much in performance.

Sorry boys, thread is debunked!

There are several reports out of Las Vegas from those who have seen Raymond Felton that he looks much more trim than he did last season.
This is good news for Knicks fans, as Felton's weight was a big issue for his disastrous season in Portland last year. If he can keep the weight down, he could emerge as a very quality starting point guard for fantasy owners this season. Jul 19 - 5:23 PM

I dont know why so many people are hating on Felton for. I could definitely see him averaging 14 and 7 this season. He seems very confident.

He can shoot and plays well with big men. He's a good choice for them in regards to what was out there. Whether he can co-exist mith the MelonerBaller still needs to be seen. Seems a lot of times playing PG with Melo means standing in the corner and hitting your shots if they come open. Don't need to be a dynamo in that situation.
