Jersey design (2nd design added)

Post#1 » by sh00n » Tue Jul 24, 2012 10:35 pm

Just playing around. After being asked to swap the colours of the old jerseys in the other thread it got me interested in trying to mix the old jerseys with something new, since the majority of the board have problems with the purple and the stripes. I thought it would be a fun thing to try out and see what people think.

I couldn't do much about the logo. There's not much Raptor related imagery that can make for a cool looking logo so I just went with whatever looked best.

Image

EDIT: Since a lot of you didn't like the claw, I tried to make my own logo from scratch.

Can't see it. The fitted style looks feminine. The triangles at the back. No. The artwork you did is top notch, but it doesn't look like a uniform with any meaning.

Not a comment on the design, per se

But I think 4 colours is excessive

Grey should be outlawed from EVER appearing on any jersey in any sports

Agree with this. The picture of the jersey does look feminine because it thins in the middle and the way it's lighter around the logo from switching it over looks like boobs lol.

I just think the big problem is the claw logo, doesn't fit IMO. I think the back looks sick but the front doesn't fit.

Nice design though.

Yeah if they brought this back, over the white pinstripe ones, I'd take that any day of the week

Sorry but that looks like ass. Especially the claw on the front.

I really like it, expect for the claw circle, it looks completely out of place.

Agreed. The front of the jersey is a little...crowded

That's one horrible looking jersey, first of all the font looks pretty childish, the numbers appeal to little kids and that Barney Dinosaur just has to go. Not to mention those pinstripes look kinda gay trying to emulate lightning stripes instead of the traditional stripes. Oh and That colour purple is just plain awful.

At the end of the day, Raps wear is not so bad.

And yes, Bosco is the same company, which makes those embarrassing Russian basketball ''pyjamas''.

Those uniforms always screamed to me that the art department started with a traditional pinstripe design, but then decided to go crazy on every detail. Electric stripes. Different coloured striped. Far spaced out striped! Wacky fonts. Are there three different fonts going on there? Triangles? Have the name going in a curve rather than straight. Anyone ever wonder why Barney himself is wearing a different jersey and shorts than the actual uniform? Maybe our jersey should have been his.....just a big "R".

Or if someone can take the same jersey but just clean it up. Standard pinstripes, standard fonts, a dinosaur who wears the same uniform or no uniform, or maybe instead of the big "R", the Canadian flag?

Good eye, I would definatly take the big "R"than that ugly dinosaur Logo. If this is the Jersey they'll implement as the "vintage" edition than i'll be pretty disappointed as I think this type of jersey usually appeals to little kids as opposed to the more mature fans with better taste.
