Telfair smells of another Juan Dixon/Bayless type trade that BC likes to make in these deadlines. He is okay, but nothing much. I say only Haddidi for Telfair; no 2nd round pick.

Telfair is an absolute stud defensively. You guys will see.

Id be happy to get Telfair if we could get JO for some depth as well.

Haddadi + 2nd rounder for Telfair + JO

Lowry - Lucas - Telfair
DD - Ross - Anderson
Gay - Anderson - Fields
Amir - Bargs - Fields
JV - JO - Gray

I'm fine with Telfair as we need another PG if Lowry goes down, but I'd be very reluctant to include a pick as well. If it's gonna cost us a pick (even if it's a 2nd rounder) I'd rather just pick up someone off waivers or D-League.

I'd prefer to stop giving up our 2nds for nothing.

Telfair is really bad. He's one of the worst players on the Suns's bench. Lucas is not a long-term solution but burning an asset, even if it is a small asset, on a guy with no upside and isn't a clear upgrade would be dumb.

I have no problem with Haddadi though.

I remember hoping the raps would draft him back in 2004. I honestly didn't know he was still in the NBA

Can anyone convince me why Telfair is a good pickup and right for us?

I've heard about him since he came out of HS, but never really watched him.

Only in Toronto do fans criticize the drafting of maangement, not realize that the Raptors have virtually no history of a successful 2nd rd pick, yet aren't willing to give up a 2nd rounder for Sebastian Telfair.

Every trade with Colangelo involves a complimentary (free) second-round pick.

jokes aside i've always been a big proponent of what chemistry can do for a team and especially one like the Raps.
Glad to hear BC seems to be cognizant of the core he's putting together

I'm on board with this move now. Before it didn't make sense but team chemistry is huge. A little internal competition for the backup 2 spot is not a bad thing either.

WHy are people hatin on this trade? Telfair is putting up some pretty good numbers in limited minutes this season and he is only 27 years old. He is much more a point guard then lucas, in terms of moving the ball around. His assist to turnover ratio is actually good. This guy can be a pretty legit back up point guard for any team. On top of that, he is good friends with lowry and Gay. He work out with them in offseason. Yes he is a free agent, but i feel like he will resign here because of lowry and Gay,

I think you guys will be surprised at what Telfair brings to the table.

He's a solid backup point guard. He's improved his jumper quite a bit. I don't mind the deal, but I think giving up a 2nd rounder isn't worth it.

Knowing BC he will.

Telfair's a good, cheap option off the bench.

I would be disappointed if BC threw in the Kings' 2nd rounder though. It's basically a late 1st.

Ridnour or Maynor would be 10X better. We need one more big I think more importantly. This is good insurance at pg though.

I remember thinking Telfair would be the next great point guard when he was on the SLAM cover with LeBron. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Trading a player we don't have, and a pick that most of the time amounts to nothing, for a 2nd/3rd string expiring veteran PG is a deal I like.
