What basketball shoes should I get next ?

Post#1 » by JBautista » Thu May 9, 2013 10:29 pm

Hey guys, just wondering what pair of basketball shoes I should get next. As of now, I'm thinking the LeBron X Floridians for 150, or the KD V's Easters for about 130. I was also considering the hyperdunks, and I'm 5'10 and play more on the wing positions if that helps. I want a shoe that is comfortable and that will last. Thanks.

I've heard Hyperfuses are really comfy to play in.

I say hyperfuses, don't know much about KDs, I find lebrons too bulky for me, and Jordan retros are just all-around garbage blister-inducing quality.

Throw in another vote for the Hyperfuse, got a pair not too long ago, super comfy and great ankle support without being restrictive. I was also considering the Lebron X and the KD V, but when it came down to it the hyperfuse just felt better. Very similar feel to the KD V's imo.

I also wear hyperfuse (2011). I like them. I couldn't wear the hyperdunks the shoe felt to flat and big on my foot. Hyperfuse has more of a snug/tighter fit.

As someone who's worked in the industry for 5 years now, the Lebron Zoom Soldier 6 is an amazingly well cushioned basketball shoe. I find a lot of people prefer them to lebron x.
I got a pair and love the support laterally, they also feel very explosive because of the double zoom air pack in the fore foot.

Honestly most shoes are very good nowadays but what you really want to look for is fit. If you actually want a good performance basketball shoe just get the one that is most comfortable for your foot shape. I have a narrow foot with a smaller heel and a left ankle issue so I need a shoe that supports my foot in the right places and is not too wide. I had to buy a new pair a couple of years ago after a month because my foot started sliding left to right inside the shoe even though my toe was right at the end, it was terrible and my game suffered, especially on defence.

Trust me it's all about what fits YOUR foot the best, that's the best basketball shoe for YOU.

To add to the above posters points, get something that fits. Most ball shoes are extraordinarily narrow these days. Try lots of stuff out.

As for the LeBrons I was gonna buy them off a friend, or ebay. I was also surprised how light the Kobe 8's were, probably as light as the crazy lights.

Lebron's are clunky (I'm a quick guard). Kobe's are great. Hyperdunks work for me, but I'm partial to Jordan 14's. Really liked the old kobe 8's.
I believe in Masai.
