Does Tim L lose credibility if he brings BC back

Post#1 » by Rapsalot » Sun May 12, 2013 1:15 am

When Tim L was named to new role he did some interviews and most posters were impressed and supportive of his ideas for the team! Does this change if he brings BC back and then likely Casey too?

Absolutely.

You can't come in here and say its all about the banners and then bring back the guy who has failed miserably for 7 years straight

Depends what he brings back BC for. If he can bring BC in for the business/marketing side then I am fine with that. We need someone else to be in charge of our roster.

What credibility does tim l have anyway? I'm pretty sure any crackhead would've had "credibility" if he worked for an owner that was willing to give a blank check for anything.

Anyone that has ever managed as a career will agree that not every decision made is a success. Sometimes you hire the wrong people, and sometimes the vision you had 3 years ago isn't the direction you now see as being successful.

The guy has made a ton of mistakes no doubt, but I sincerely like the make up of this squad. We have assets, we have talent at all position, we have guys that wanna play here, and we have youth. We don't have cap room, but I'm willing to give BC another year to figure this $hit out.

Of course, I have no excuse for Landry Fields or Aaron Gray.

If he resigns bc he has no credibility in my book.
Ill wait abit to see what actually does.
I think aeg probably has over 1000 employees so i wouldnt give him all the credit for their success.
The lakers are known to have a group of decision makers and spent a LOT of money to win.
Well see but re-signing bryan is a step off a cliff in the wrong direction.

I never really knew what it meant when he was hired either way. Just thought that there was some faint possibility that some type of change could happen up top, but it was far from guaranteed. So, I won't really be disappointed. I always expect this organization to do the bare minimum.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

It really depends what else he does. If he brings back BC and gets us a big name player does he lose credibility then?

Why the hell would he lose credibility?

The guy hasn't even officially started working for MLSE and if wants to take his time and evaluate while giving BC another year, there is nothing wrong with that.

Would I love to see a change? Absolutely. But I ain't a sports exec and neither are people on this board. If TL and the board want to give BC another year or even half a year to see if the team is in a playoff position, then I can't argue against that decision.

Big name like who? I guess, no. But he'd also have to hire a coach and ensure BC doesn't meddle on the day to day rotations.

I don't know who the guy is, but yes - he would then have negative credibility in my books.

By the way, it's "lose", not "loose".

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.
This being said, it is often when you are at your darkest moments that you are able to see the light. I have full confidence in Bryan Colangelo as a talent evaluator. I personally feel that he is evolving and could have success under the new President. This being said, the new President is also a big splash kind of guy, and if he is unable to land Phil Jackson, I fully expect him to hold onto BC until a big splash guy becomes available.
